Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
Somewhat surprising to me that the chief exec of Burnley FC is having Zoom meetings with ‘The Clarets Trust’ sharing information about the future of our club that us proles shouldn’t be privy to.
But perhaps that’s just me.

My god Tony thats dreadful, I really hope you have family and friends in contact with you...stay safe and well Sir.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:33 pmI really can do without the hassle. Wishing you all the best with your family situation mate.ClaretAL wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:45 pmAnd there it is in a nutshell. People need to realise that behind a name in a forum there is a real life person with real life issues to contend with, and not just CT, who will relate to this board to get some conversation albeit in a written format because they don't have the luxury to have their family around them. I personally have a lot going on at the moment with my Mrs in intensive care and trying to keep the family up, and you would think the last thing I would be doing is reading and posting on a board like this, but its the distraction that I find helps and lets you think about something else. However when it comes to reading some of the slanging matches on here it deters me personally and I'm sure many others from doing so and thus heaping on to their issues. So please lest call a truce and just get on and be more thoughtful of what could be going on in someone's life behind a name on a screen.

Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
We released a statement recently. Things clearly haven’t progressed to the point at which an update is necessary. Obviously the club can’t confirm the timescales to complete the takeover if they don’t know them.
Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
I'm aware of that, however they could update us on if its still "interested parties" or have we now a prefered bidder that they are finalising the deal with.
Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
Well, i guess we are all stake holders...whether Shares, Season Tickets....I would like to know even the basics, as in we are down to one bidder now.To cloak and dagger for me, and as I've always thought....cornershop mentality.

Not sure this actually tells us anything new/or accurate given but seems it was expected and there are now delays etc.

You’re being unrealistic if you expect regular updates about such a deal. There is nothing to be gained by giving regular progress updates to the public. The club’s latest statement included the following;
’ In full respect of ongoing processes, the club will not be providing any further commentary on this matter until those discussions have reached a conclusion.’

Your health is the most important thing Tony. Natasha, my other half (you have not met) keeps telling me to cheer up... it is a tough time and I’m not prepared to play the clown anymore. I hid my mental turmoil so long it turned around and stole ten years of my life. If you ever need a chat ANYTIME Just let me know.... I know my dad would love to chew the cud with you on all things Burnley too (especially as he is stuck in a chair himself most of the time now).ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:33 pmI really can do without the hassle. I second that Tony, anything you need or if you want to join us for Christmas day remembering the 3 household rule then you would be more than welcome although I may not be the most jovial host considering current circumstances, but you were there in a massive part of my sons life and brought him in to the Clarets brotherhood and everyone on this site made him realise that he is part of a group no matter what his issues are, and that was massive for him and us as a family. Please dont feel your alone, im not sure where you live but judging from other pots its not far and what ever you need is not far away and in no means a chore, so dont think your putting people outelwaclaret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 8:23 pmYour health is the most important thing Tony. I'd just like to add to the above. I've been a website/forum editor as well as a webchat camera, voice and text moderator. It's challenging at the best of times. When it involves something you're passionate about it's more close to your heart. All that added to the situation we're all involved in regards Covid. Being isolated and alone and having to deal with continuous squabbling when it's so close to your heart and it's your only real company. Must be very difficult.
I was thinking about CT last night and wondering if fellow Clarets felt the same as me. Possibly put him up for some sort of award for his tireless work. Particularly at this difficult time.
Things are difficult enough at this time. I myself am not innocent and have posted flippant remarks and possibly ill advised replies. For which I apologise. Maybe we can all take a step back before replying and remember there is a person on the other end of your reply who may well be struggling more than usual.
Regards the takeover. I haven't posted much as nothing much has changed and at this moment I am led to be more in the CT camp as to developments, or lack of.
Stay safe, be good to yourself and at this time of good will. Be good to others.

Sad thing is it shouldn't even have to get to the point where people have to state their own personal problems. When you post online be it here, or anywhere have the decency to treat others as you'd want to be treated yourself much the same as you'd do in person. You never quite know what people are going though, even in normal times.
Credit to Tony and the mods keeping this place in line. The first major step has been very successful. This place is far, far more enjoyable than it used to be.. with only a few people who let the team down left compared to so many before.

I've been a claret for 40 years and very rarely post on here now, not worth the hassle of idiots picking holes in everything you say just for the sake of it. Hopefully the takeover completes in the near future to distract these brain dead morons. Stay safe CT..

For me CT you just need to stay focused on your health and ignore some of the crazy posters. I know this is not easy to do, but the great majority of posters really value the great and passionate job you do for us 365 days a year. How much in the dark would we be about the take-over but for your great forum. Hopefully a change in the teams fortunes (as has been evidenced more recently) is the greatest tonic possible over Christmas. We live in hope-stay positive

I was proud to present him with the Janice Fretwell award at the supporters' night a few years ago. Well deserved, not only for running the board but he's raised (with others) a decent amount for the youth foundation, and now helps with the foodbank stuff. Hope you're doing OK, Tony.
Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
In the absence of a takeover and remembrance of club all sucking away loads of my money, which could have been used to takeover the club (not really, but could have bought a player!) I will not bother until something concrete is reported.
I do sense that CT is in distress and, like the rest of us, do not wish that on any of us.
Tomorrow, the match thread title will be Aston Villa versus MIGHTY CLARETS. Madge will appear - our magic gif is important. I hope, in the same spirit, she remains.
Best of health to us all and 3 points every few days.

Or maybe the change in tone is knowing that he might not have to deal with Garlick in the near future.
Interesting from Chris - I'll see what I can find tomorrow but the last I was told was that there was a delay that potentially was no more than a delay and I was not to expect anything this year, but I've been of the opinion for some time, and posted it, that it was ALK and the others had been rejected.
