Can't say I was surprised by that inept performance given the state of affairs at present. There's a general malaise hanging over the club and it's eating away at everything the club stands for. One way or another it needs sorting and quickly.

Bardsley 7
Long 5
Dunne 5
Taylor 8*
Brownhill 6
Westwood 7

Not good. Without a few quality additions in the next week you'd have to worry about this team staying up. It looks knackered. Also the problems that were maybe present behind the scenes are now very much being aired in public, and it isn't pretty. They need resolving, quickly.

Team effort......poor but is it really their fault with thing's going on around the club, lack of investment lack of competition for places, it must be distracting.

Dyche........stubborn or making a point, can't work it out

Tarkowski........injury B/S, he doesn't want to pick one up more like to stop his big move, get rid now whist we have time to bring in a replacement that wants to play for the club.

Garlick......thanks for the past but it looks like you have hit the ceiling now, move over and sell to someone who will invest and take us forward, we can't stand still in this division or we will be eaten up, we are going in reverse and it will end in relegation.

With that performance, it makes you wonder if all the problems between Garlick and Dyche is finally getting through to the squad of players we have

I've marked McNeil up one as he was trying to help out all over the pitch in an unusually flat performance. At one stage he made an important tackle at right back. Seems we were spending more time protecting the back line and helping each other out than looking for any incisive play.

Dont normally rate players, but felt i had to register how poor our midfield was yesterday,if they put anymore performances in like that this season is going to be a struggle :(

Pope 6 - nowt to do, but how often do his kicks lose us possession instantly
Bardsley 7 - stuck in as usual and had to help the defence a few times
Long 5 - not up to it
Dunne 5 - all over the place at the start but got better
Taylor 6
McNeil 3 - uninterested
Westwood 4
Stephens 4
Brownhill 5 - the best of a poor midfield
Vydra 5 - tried but not much to go off
Wood 6 - frustrated no doubt

Possibly the most inept performance of Dyche's reign. That Saints team should have been there for the taking.

Bardsley's duel with Djenepo was funny as,some of the looks Bardsley gave him were the most entertaining part of the game for me!

Obviously some of you lot can't read! 3 is the lowest score you can give, no matter if some of them did possibly deserve less!

Pope 6
Bardsley 7
Long 5
Dunne 5
Taylor 7
McNeil 3. Took all the momentum we did generate, right out of every move. Lost confidence?
Westwood 5
Stephens 4
Brownhill 5
Vydra 6
Wood 5

Tarkowski -10 A very poor character trait from this star player.

Pope 5
Beardsley 5
Taylor 5 distribution crosses poor
Long 5
Dunne 6 unlucky with the goal
Westwood 4 not creative
Brownhill 5 not a winger
Stephens 5 looks for movement if only to static up front
McNeill 4 seems to loose interest
Wood 4
Vydra 4 runs down blind alleys

Thought we deserved a point 8 corners to their 2
And 54% of possession and great save from Taylor
That’s football

Would appear that "Stevens" might indeed be the new "Hendricks"
Lots of 3s on here, and one score below that for a player who'd only arrived a day or two before. Someone said he disappeared after 2 minutes.
Not saying he was great, but the stats say that he made more successful tackles than anyone else on the pitch, so he must have got involved.

Having reflected upon the defeat and trying to ignore the mass hysteria..

Pope - 6 - Had very little to do all game. Perhaps he was a bit too keen to close down Adams for the goal

Bardsley 6 - Had a running battle with Djenepo, who was lucky to get away with an elbow. Solid defending, but not much going forward
Long 6 - Did ok on the whole - looks a bit quiet at times, needs to talk to the back line more
Dunne 6 - Ok - would benefit from experienced centre half partner
Taylor 7 - Showed most endeavour - unlucky not to score

Brownhill 6 - Suffered a bit for moving out to the right
Stephens 5 - Difficult debut - Could have taken him off and put Brownhill in the centre and bring on Pieters?
Westwood 6 - played too deep to have an impact -
McNeil 6 - he did try, but just not working out for him at the moment

Wood 6 - little service, but still offered a threat
Vydra 6 - again, little service to work with

Sloppy goal to concede. We were caught cold and Ings was lucky with the miss-hit finish. We should have picked him up however.
In a below par performance (certainly not abysmal!), we still did enough to take at least a point.
Midfield concerns me the most. We looked to play far too deep. The out ball is then just a long ball and Southampton dealt with them comfortably.
If Stephens is sitting in front of the back 4, Westwood needs to push forward.

Without 7 first team players, it was always going to be difficult. I think Dyche was perhaps making a point by not changing, but his options were incredibly limited and we could have snatched an equaliser with that team.

Tough times at the moment, but we've been through them before. This is Burnley FC!
Let's resolve the Tarkowski situation, get some players fit and I believe we should have enough to survive in this league.

Brownhill was active and battles a lot in the air
Taylor was great.
i think dunne can be our starting CB. He just needs Mee
rather than Long to pair with him.

And yet, as I posted previously, he made more tackles in the game than anyone else on the pitch.
Did he have a good game?, no, was he familiar with his colleagues and our pattern of play? obviously not, is he "Dyche fit"?, no.
Was he more involved than McNeil?
Was he uninterested?, well the stats suggest the opposite
