Sean Dyche Press Conference
They were only with us to join in the warm up.
Johann it was nice to see on the grass
James Tarkowski is out there and that will be touch and go.
Barnesy came through on Friday so that was good
Ben Mee joined in the warm up and has gone off to do some work on his own.
Jay Rod is not on the grass and Robbie is hopefully settling down a bit.
I still think this week will come too quick for them but I think once the international break comes around we will near full strength because Corky is still a bit behind them

On transfers...
It is not just down to him (the chairman)
But I can't sign the cheques.
Would we want a couple more? Ideally yes
But when everyone is fit it looks radically different.
We don't want to sign for the sake of signing but we do want talent and players who fit us and can take us forward.

On Tarkowski...
I can't control other clubs' movements. If anyone offers then the chairman and board will deal with that.
I have no thought other than him being here.

More on Tarkowski...
It will be helpful (to have him fit)
These are experienced players and very good players, they are important to us and they are important for the young players to learn from.
Dunney and Bobby Thomas have improved after the lockdown but they still are learning and when they are working with players like Tarky, Ben Mee and Kevin Long that helps them.
I think when players get linked with people it is part of the way the media is, I don't think it is on whether you are in and out of the team.
There is not much to it other than whether someone is going to spend a lot of money.

Re: Sean Dyche Press Conference
The biggest takeaway from that for me is that we still use cheques to buy players.
Come on Burnley, get with the 21st century!!

You'd think they'd have a PayPal account

Yes, and if we used a PayPal account if the player wasn’t as described we could demand a full refund.

We would probably end up transferring 42m for the next Messi to some dodgy Nigerian agent who would then vanish if we used paypal

Re: Sean Dyche Press Conference
For some reason, that interview just goes black at about 5 mins in. Tried it twice on two different machines and the same both times.
The message though has clearly changed on the expectation that we have retained Tarks, that we don't need more bodies (though we'd like a couple).
I think that probably signals the end of our transfer dealings unless with Tarks leaves or the takeover completes.

Re: Sean Dyche Press Conference
Talking about tonight's game, Sean pointed out for the second time this season, that we don't have a very good record in cup competitions. I think that's been his fault as much as anything else over the last few years, due to his seeming lack of interest or effort to change things in games, when things aren't going well. The defeat at home to Sunderland was a prime example of that.
However, I suspect that Sean is fed up of criticism over the cups and is making a much more determined effort this season to redress the balance. In the two games we have played so far, there has been much more effort than in any of the games previously, (Despite our squad weakness.) and I think we might make a decent effort again tonight. I do hope so. I'd love a cup run.

Ahh. I thought it had crashed. With my Ad Blocker enabled it doesn't come back ever, but I've now disabled it and it comes back after the Ads. Thanks for that.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 10:20 amit is for ad breaks with no ads - just let it run it comes back on within 20 seconds or so (ads are beginning to plague youtube also - happens about 4 times
re Wilson, I would love it if we could sign him. I'm very doubtful we will though especially as Sean's tone now seems to have changed.
