"get up are you effing shot" as Lowton gets clearly fouled. Just shows you what we're dealing with.
Spoilt, rich bastards 3 up and still have the the cheek to tell our players to get up when they're the masters of cheating.
Lowton off, another injury for us.
No love lost. What happened to sportsmanship?

You know it’s not going to go your way when Brownhill tries to stop the ball going out for a throwin on the halfway line and it goes out for a corner

We had a shot on target! _ good ball in from Taylor, good work between him and Mcneil there, even when on opposite sides of the pitch.

Re: Tonight's Lineup
It's not great, but too put it into context 7 of those goals have gone to Leicester and Man City, we kept a clean sheet at Millwall, and only conceded once against each of Sheff Utd and Southampton. So against the teams you'd expect us to be competitive with, we've been pretty solid.ClaretAndJew wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 8:33 pm9 goals conceded in 5 games this season. Not sure I get the logic of playing your best player out of position to accomodation Erik Pieters. Why not try something a bit different in games like this, how about 4-5-1 with McNeil in the free role again?

Wasn't that long ago that they were in league one idolizing players like Michael Branch. They only got through they year on playoffs beating Gillingham on penalties.
If they were in a less fashionable area they'd be just as crap now as Bradford City, Nottingham Forest or Sheffield Wednesday.

It's the Premier League where some of the best players in the world play. That is what makes it the best league in the world. Did you expect the top clubs to shop in the bargain basement? The managers are not going to turn down the millions the owners are prepared to throw at it. Would you?

No but in fairness he has a point with Peppa Pig. He did that at Bayern and now at City. He complains about lack of players often. He spends lots of money.karatekid wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 8:48 pmIt's the Premier League where some of the best players in the world play. That is what makes it the best league in the world. I thought McNeil was our best player because he was the only one who looked capable of beating an opponent when in possession.

Re: Tonight's Lineup
It wasn't as bad as it looked. Lots more shots versus the richest team in the country and two penalties turned down. I'm confident we'll be okay this season.
Just look at the stats vs Southampton
(When does a team winning 3-0 ever commit more fouls?)?
Hasn't happened since Leeds were good I think.

Re: Tonight's Lineup
It baffles me why so many fans are happy for us to not have an shot on target and put in any quality football, JUST because we are playing moneybags city, id like just once to have a bloody go from the start, not much to ask,we do pay our players in excess of 40k a week

I was merely using Fulham as an example of how just throwing money at it doesn't always work. They spent over £100 million when they got promoted in 2018 and were relegated with 5 games to play.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 8:56 pmYou don't honestly believe that Fulham's budget is anywhere near Man City's.

Re: Tonight's Lineup
Lots of positives for me tonight:
Tarks back. Not a great game but that sharpness will return.
McNeill looked LOADS better.
Barnes back and winning FK’s all over the show.
Brownhill looked decent again
Good run out.
Could’ve had a pen. Taylor’s was for me. Dwight wasn’t but in the context of having Taylor’s turned down it may have been given.
Downside the Lowton injury.

No doubt about it, if they had the same decisions it would go in their favor.
Mariner confirmed his reputation as a crap ref tonight.
It's not like it even means anything to Manchester City. What's another 1m prize money when you have billions.
Oh wait, its there only real chance of a trophy

Your comparison is showing a one-off payment plan as opposed to a bottomless pit.

I wish SD had a bottomless pit given by some mega rich investor. I certainly wouldn't be complaining about him spending too much in getting Burnley to become one of the best teams in Europe.

Strangely. I wouldn't like it.
If you take it to the extreme it would totally ruin the game as we (or certainly I) know it.
I'd sooner see the opposite, not that it will ever happen, transfer spending and wage caps per season.
