Yes you could blame him for Son's goal (as Carragher detailed in slow motion), however Spurs will punish even the best teams in the PL with that sort of goal. I have been critical of Long recently-that was possibly the best I have seen him play, and he played well v WBA too. We all know when Mee is fit he will come straight back into the team

But as I said, he was excellent tonight in general, there just always seems to be a crucial error caused by a talent gap which he simply cannot overcome.
Talent gap or experience gap? Sean has said in the past that top teams don't give young centre halfs a chance because they can't afford to have them make their mistakes during their games. That's a question of experience not talent. Long has the oddity of being our longest serving player yet he's started fewer Premier League games than Dwight.

The thing with kev is he defends well but looks like a rabbit in the headlights with the ball at his feet

Are you suggesting we put big Kev up top again?

Gibson showed how to steal a living ..and Tarky by his display last night and his 'sore ' toe episode isn't far off it either. I don't think Kevin Long ever refused to do what the manager requested. He's not good enough but it takes 2 to sign a contract.
Not really Gibson wanted to go elsewhere to play rather than sit on the bench ‘stealing a living’ ... Burnley took a business decision not to sell him or loan him to a fellow Premier League club at that time ... now what went on afterwards would appear to be unprofessional on the part of those involved yes , but the lad wanted to go somewhere where he could play.
