Just listening to Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher co-commenting on these games today has been hilarious.

To be fair I'm a better keeper than Adrian and I'm about thirty odd years older than him

Apparently it's the first time ever that Liverpool and Utd have both conceded 6 goals on the same day according to BBC sport

I felt quite down this morning after losing 1-3 at Newcastle and a poor performance.
I feel a little better now

Nicked from the Beeb feed:
It's the first time since April 1963 Liverpool have conceded seven goals in a match (2-7 vs Spurs).
They are the first top flight reigning champion to concede seven goals in a league match since Arsenal in September 1953 against Sunderland, who lost 7-1.

Carragher is cracking me up on the commentary, especially when he likened Liverpool's defending to a "kids game".

You'd think Liverpool and Man U conceding 7&6 goals would make me feel better after yesterday, but it doesn't

Fair do's to Klopp congratulating the AV players

Wow - Aston Villa. What a side they look this season.
And to think Sidney claimed the other week that Dean Smith had failed at Villa. Hilarious stuff from him.

I'll stand by what I said, last season was a failure considering what was spent and the return on that spending.
I'll find it hilarious if you try to argue the toss otherwise belmtard.

Didn't Villa pay about £30M for Watkins, we were never gonna be in for him.

Just listen to Patrice Evra now "it was a joy to watch"

Re: today’s footy (Sunday)
No you're spot on as always. I just wondered when it became unfashionable to keep a side up in the PL in your first year after promotion. In my book that was always deemed a success, so you can imagine my surprise when it was deemed a failure. The Aston Villa owners and executives must have been fuming.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 9:30 pmOf course you are, I'll just sit here and wait for you to explain why I was wrong about last seasons Villa.
You can't though, so I won't bother waiting

Re: today’s footy (Sunday)
Villa were jammy last season that's true, but it's worth remembering they won 2 and drew 2 of their last 4 matches, so the signs were there that they were progressing.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 9:30 pmOf course you are, I'll just sit here and wait for you to explain why I was wrong about last seasons Villa.

The danger for Dean Smith is that expectations will rise, and if and when Villa do go on a bad run, the knives will be sharpened.
There's several teams who had strong seasons last time, and yet who can't get going yet, we are one as are Sheff Utd, and yet in complete contrast Everton who struggled in the last few games of last season, are a team transformed.
I'll reserve judgement until about Xmas, that's when you generally get an idea of how the league will pan out, and I'll be Villa are so lofty by then.
However it's safe to gauge they won't be down among the dead men this time.

Yeah that's a brilliant return.
If that had been Burnley it's an absolute rock solid guarantee that a number of people on here would've been having meltdowns.
Go play somewhere else, you're intentionally picking a fight and it's boring me now.

First time I've bothered to listen to Dean Smith speak after a game and obviously after that result he's in a good mood but what a likeable and down to earth guy he seems

Exactly the same, very much in the Dyche, Wilder style. Doesn't get too high after a win and too low after a loss. I like all 3 of those managers. Don't have to be foreign to be a very good Premier League manager.
Re: today’s footy (Sunday)
Judging on PL scoring this season we could be conceding a serious amount of goals. Thank god we have a break to get our new signings bedded in. Oh wait !!!
