Dyche can make average players look excellent.

So he could probably turn Jack Wiltshire into a world class player..albeit for about 60 mins a season.

Just imagine a midfield of Wiltshire, Hendricks and Stevens firing the bullets for Woods up front.

No chance of relegation whatsoever. That could have been a reality.

He said he’s been fit for the last 8 months, a lot would depend on the shape he’s in. I think a fully fit Wilshere would absolutely improve us.
There was no football for a number of months for starters.
Plus he wasn't used after the restart was he?

Fully fit Wilshere would improve most teams, the issue is I cannot remember the last time he was fully fit, it's been years.

Aye, cos everyone is like Drinkwater.

Perhaps you could have used Joey Barton as your example?
Totally different. There was never any doubt as to Burton's footballing ability and his ability to play large amounts of games which we needed. The issue was if Dyche could control him. Dyche could be brilliant with Wiltshire but he can't control a body that has proven time after time it can't play sustained amounts of football.

He's been fit because he hasn't played. Can't get injured if you don't play...*taps head* etc etc etc. Get him on a pitch and watch his legs explode.
Well that isn’t true is it? Maybe the long time not playing while being injury free has done his body some good.

You may be right, you may be wrong.
My take on Wilshire is that he's managed to be talked about a lot for someone who has actually not lived up to that talk.

KRBFC,
I don't know how old you are,
my memories of our decline through the 70's are of us pinning our hopes on ageing ex Div1 players who , though actually weren't all that bad, failed to stop the rot season on season.
I'd rather we don't go down that path again, investing in young players is better

Don’t try to patronise me, you must forget the window just closed and we signed 1 old ageing cart horse. So we aren’t investing in younger players due to finance? What’s our options remaining

not that it's got anything to do with me but he wasn't trying to patronize you, he asked a rhetorical question and nothing more and his response was spot on

Chill out !!!

He says he hasn't been given the opportunity to play in a poor side.

He more than likely as a bad attitude and needs to get his sh!t together. The greedy little fecker will be more than likely on 100k a week, we wouldn't touch him with a barge pole

Can't find it now but read something yesterday that he'd be willing to play for around £15,000-£30,000 a week. Which is what piqued my interest in the first place. Still a risk mind.

Given the board have given Dyche almost zero to spend during the window can’t quite see them stumping up the cash for a player who is unfortunately constantly injured.

Premier League Football is insane. I was surprised to say the least when West Ham offered Wilshire a contract. Now he has walked away with over 3 million as a pay off. Only in this league can you become a multi millionaire beyond your wildest dreams for doing very little. File Andy Carroll in the same drawer. Both very good footballers when fit but sadly rarely fit throughout their careers. Daft thing is though, some club will offer Wilshere a lucrative contract within the next few days.
We are pretty desperate, but not desperate enough to throw another pile of money away on Jack Wilshere.

i really don't see how relating my memories of our decline can be seen as patronising.

Since when did stepping onto a football field do any good for Wilshere's fitness levels?

Took £100,000 a week from his time at WestHam and earned a serious wedge at Arsenal.
It's time to call it a day playing wise and move into coaching, assuming hes invested wisely in the past.

I guess if we could get him cheap which we wouldn’t, he’d possibly surpass the Belgian crock’s 1 league goal ( or was it 2?) haul over his injury ravaged 3 yr tenure .

Well you’d think so but whilst daft clubs keep punting why not carry on, there’s no incentive just yet.

Would be similar to the Defour signing, IMO. Could very well end the same way too, with him propelling us up the league before getting injured and disappearing back into obscurity.

Worth a punt, for me, but the terms would most certainly have to be in our favour.

Destined for MLS, methinks.
