Our 4 out first, loved that!
Agreed. After all the recent doom and gloom. To see 4 of the England starting line up being current or very recent Clarets is pretty amazing.
Maybe just a reality check on how far we have come!

I sent in a question in to the AGM they held online when Tripps and Ings were playing for us, and I my question was do you think that Ings and Tripps should be considered for an England call up. Dyche responded we shouldnt get carried away with ourselves...

Plus how they stood together during the anthems 🙂

How far from being an international footballer is Saka?
Give him some age group games. He’s miles short of this poor level.

My thoughts of Southgate get worse, with each team ge sends out.

Too many players with zero caps. The idea should be to field 7 or 8 of the first team and try to introduce a limited amount of newcomers. That way you see how the new ones blend with the main players.

One thing revealed is that the young players are really inexperienced and without their more senior club colleagues around them, look like novices. They should not be near the national team, yet, if ever.

Give them a chance to learn at their club!

Knee Vs Pope's face. Pope stands up straight away! Guy with knee still on floor..

I wish we had a right footed winger who could whip in crosses like Grealish. Bad marking but put it on a plate for Calvert-Lewin. Just the right amount of pace and distance from the keeper.

It's not been a great game, but great play from Grealish for the goal, and Calvert-Lewin doing what he does these days, Pope has been solid enough, and he produced one impressive piece of keeping, but he's not had a lot to do.

It must be many moons since England have had 4 starters with Burnley connections, and this shows the huge progression we've made as a club.

Kane's a fine striker but it's great to have someone up top who enjoys winning headers. Encourages the lads to get some crosses in.

I prefer this line-up to when Kane and Sterling play.
A bit of indecision at the back, but that is to be expected.
NP has done fine, did he catch that header a foot above the bar :D

Northern Ireland have equalised in Bosnia, and the ROI are still 0-0 in Slovakia, so an all Irish showdown is still on the table, though both are finding it tough tonight.

Feel a bit sorry for the lads making their debuts in such weird circumstances. Particularly Calvert Lewin and Coady getting on the scoresheet and it being in an empty stadium.

Yes it must be a hollow feeling for that duo, they've scored at Wembley, and it's greeted by silence.

What an overhead by Danny, it's been a good night for the ex-clarets, now we just need Nick to maintain his clean sheet to round the evening off.
