If trying to get more money for people in trouble makes him an opportunist I suspect he’ll take that.
£5m difference, with the amount of money they’ve spaffed on their mates.
This is the same Blairite Burnham who gave the green light to hundreds of billions of pounds to go to his mates in private healthcare and construction who are still being paid from the NHS budget for hospitals like the one in Blackburn despite being worth a fraction of the money received. If we want to talk about £5 million then maybe Burnham should talk to those who profited from PFI for a bailout of the public money lining their bank accounts.
Add on top the lack of transparency over what happened at the Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust, he really is not the right person to be commenting on health issues and even the Socialist Worker have called out his attempts to move away from his Blairite past and present himself and his anorak as a man of the people.
Short memories required to trust this man, the same short memories that allowed Pro EU Boris to get elected, then again the people of Manchester did knowingly elect a Scouser as their mayor.

why is it always a screenshot - cropped - not from like say, I don't know - a proper scientific source.
Flu Deaths this year - 6 Million.
- I just wrote that on a computer, now it must be true - even more so if I put it on FB

So in 19/20 there were only 394 flu deaths. That’s April 2019 thru March 2020. The pandemic didn’t hit the uk in earnest until the last six weeks of that date range so wouldn’t have had much impact.
People making rubbish up usually mess up somehow.

The dead giveaway for me is where that screenshot says "less" and not "fewer".

I really hate fake new!
I noticed a link the other day from a UK newspaper stating 'new track and trace may be reading your private WhatsApp messages'
Straight away I said to the Mrs, that will be straight Billy-Joe and Teegans Mummy's facebook and spreading like wild fire.

Are people still not accepting that Covid is worse than Flu.

One of my good mates that’s just had COVID said the Flu was far worse but he’s one of the lucky ones that got off with feeling a bit rough. I appreciate in some cases it’s far worse and in some cases they aren’t even comparable.
The father in law really struggled though thankfully wasn’t hospitalised. Luckily anyone I know that’s had it so far has stayed out of hospital but my mother works in Preston ICU and said it’s almost full and people are dying regularly, so absolutely nothing like Flu.

Fair play to the gym owner for having some balls. Was reading earlier about a Sunday league team in the North East somewhere who are being fined for the crime of going for a pint after a game. We may as well be living in China.
