Would rather see Coady than Walker

Hate to say but Mings is as good if not better than Maguire on current form as well
He’s specifically picked Coady to play in a back 3 as he’s very good in the centre organising and playing the ‘quarter back’ role then picked a right back and whatever Dier is in front of him. Crazy

Soft Pen brings us level, embarrassing acting from Henderson

Soft penalty, but Lukaku made a meal of Diers challenge so fair enough.

To be fair, he had hold of Henderson not once, but twice.

England’s penalty was a lot softer than the one we didn’t get against the Saints

England hugely soft pen.

Well our performance has been very 'meh'. Belgium created more but not exactly been brilliant either.

Not impressed with us when we have the ball anywhere on the field at the moment.

Henderson should be booked for clear simulation.

It was a pen but there’s pushing and pulling at every corner...

It seems to me that Southgate hasn't really got a clue. Is it possible it was the waistcoat all along making the calls at the World Cup?

Reckon Grealish would suit this game. I'd get him on.

Not at all convinced with the formation either.

I remember when the F1 commentator (Croft) gave out an important football result when I was recording it on the other channel, they really should stick to their own sports.

I was furious

Their penalty was a strange one.... ref absolutely wasn’t interested whatsoever. Then he changes direction when heading off back to centre of the field and points to the spot. If I didn’t know better, I’d say the game is reffed from elsewhere and messages of what to do and when are passed to the ref thru an earpiece.

That won’t be right tho...will it?

This is what I mean regarding our defenders. We get the ball and pass it to the keeper - back to defender - across - back to keeper...

Belgium get someone in midfield who comes to collect it and their defender has the vision to put it forward through the middle.

Dont worry I've just backed Belgium at 5/2 in play, that's just made us avoid defeat.

Taking 1 for the team.

Started this half fairly well to be fair. This defence is far too poor to not get caught out at some point though.

Look what happens when we get the ball from defence into midfield quicker. We look so much dangerous when we do that, rather than pissy-passying at the back.

The fact that the defender then felt like he had to put his hands behind is back, is a poor do really (crap handball rules).

Credit to England in this second half. They’ve stopped Belgium from playing and created a few decent chances. The first half was awful and another 45 minutes like that would have rightly attracted a lot of criticism.

Backed the draw at 5s when we went 2-1 infront to make sure we won.
Gareth is a nice guy, deserves this after an absolute tactical master stroke.

I thought he'd said he'd love to play under Dyche again. So perhaps not the same thing. But played well.

Just shows how much we improve when we get the ball from defence into midfielder quicker.

Apparently England have no left back so Tripp is played there.
We've got the solution in Charlie ,as shown by Phillips inclusion if Charlie had stayed with Media darlings Leeds he'd be a certain pick

Not convinced with Phillips. Tried to intercept the ball countless times over the 2 games I've seen him in for England and not sure he's won any of them.

Well done Gareth Southgate. Plays a young exciting team in the friendly giving lots of inexperienced players some game time and they play some brilliant football and wallop the Welsh

Then against the world #1s he plays a much more pragmatic team which looked dodgy on paper but again came up with the goods and looked refreshingly solid once we'd got our noses in front

Hope his team is somewhere in between the two previous selections for the game against Denmark with a blend of youth and experience but whatever he picks I will trust and get behind because he seems to be just getting better and better as a top international manager

A moral boosting win for England, and the 2nd half sounded promising, but given the fact that both sides were missing a lot of regulars I wouldn't read too much into it, the real test for both teams and managers will ultimately come next summer at the Euro's.

Great for Tripps to set up the winner, and he just seems to get better with age.

We looked average in the first half. Then, as I mentioned, we got the ball into midfield a lot quicker and lot more direct and we improved 10-fold. That and 4 of them grabbing Lukaku's ballbag.

No effort, if pathetic Burnley fans get wound up by England and Southgate doing well and by me giving them well deserved praise than that's their problem but don't try and make out that cos u lot get triggered by nothing that I'm fishing or trolling

Southgate and England have had a fine week on the pitch and I hope we can round it off against Denmark
