Any team news vs Brommers?

Post by burnley007 » Mon Oct 19, 2020 10:35 am

Does anyone have any idea if we have any players returning tonight?

Mee?
Brady?
JBG?
Lowton?
J Rod?
Cork?
Long?

When we get these players back, we'll generally beat teams like West Brom, but without them I genuinely worry about the results. We desperately need Mee and Cork back ASAP.

Change the thread title - it comes across like you're giving us team news on tonight's match.

I think you posted something yesterday regarding Mee - expected back at the end of the month? Although not sure he's 'back on the grass' yet.

The club posted the training video's a couple of weeks ago which showed Mee was training with the first team on grass.

Brilliant, thanks for the update. I didn't think he was back training - hope that means he'll fit in an under 23 game in and be back sharpish.

Having JBG back on the right and Brownhill in the middle will certainly help though too.

I'd put decent money on Brownhil starting on the right hand side with Stephens central.

Or Brownhill in the middle and JBG on the right. He's in the squad so hopefully fit enough to start.

I will go with the above.

JBG won't be starting, he can never last a full 90

I'll predict:

Pope
Bards Tarks Long Taylor
Brownhill Stephens Westwood McNeil
Jay Wood

But I hope JBG starts and Stephens is on the bench.

I’d prefer Pieters to partner Tarks if as expected Mee doesn’t make it.

IDK if JBG will start, but the rest look about right to me, the noticeable improvement for me is the bench, we've got genuine options with that bench, compared to a few weeks ago.

Apart from Mee for Long, and perhaps Jay Rod for Barnes, that's our strongest XI in my view, and hopefully tonight is the start of our season.

Wasn’t long sporting a golf ball size lump over his eye from international duty- is that likely to impact his selection?

Cork might not even make our team when he returns, so long as JBG is fit. We're missing Mee a lot more.

Truth is, Cork has been keeping the rhythm of this team since he arrived. You can't make music without a rhythm.

Cork is one of Dyche's favourites. Rightly or wrongly he'll be back in as soon as he's fit, just like Barnes was.

I think he is. I think he's a solid option if Westwood or Brownhill are OOA, along with Stephens.

In fact, central midfield is now pretty much sorted, just like we are upfront. Get like that throughout the rest of the side and we're laughing.

Barnes and Wood start, McNeil, Westwood, Brownhill and JBG across the middle with Taylor, Tarky, Long and Pieters at the back.

3rd for me, but regardless, he's on the bench when he returns. It's healthy. It's the sort of competition we want for every place.
