Mee wouldn’t have improved anything tonight.
I think he'll give the side a big lift. He's not going to come in and score a hattrick, but his leadership and fight will be a big plus. With a fit best XI we'll pick up wins.

What a load of dogsh*t. The only positive tonight was I had Right Back in our sweepstake for what position Dyche would play Pieters in so up £100

First half was dreadful but I thought the second was quite entertaining. Don’t quite get all the negativity, but hey, this is The Bee Hole End.
Got a point. Onwards and upwards.

We beat Man United 2-0 on their own ground.

We do actually tend to play better against better opposition. When we play teams we should be beating, we **** it up.

Let's chill out a bit here.

I thought we were much the better of two extremely average teams who on this showing will be bumping along the bottom for large parts of the season, yet on chances we SHOULD have edged it. However, against better sides than them, which tbh will be pretty much every other team in the league, I will be worried.

Not having a go at Dwight for overhit crosses simply because their centre halves were always going to win the battle in that situation. He played well, clearly the best player on the pitch.
Big centre backs
So we pump high crosses in
1 of them, Ivanovic, 36 years old
So we keep our only forward with pace on the bench

Wasn’t a bad result even though a win would have been good. No injuries and time on the field for Gudmundsson, Brady and Rodriguez .
Perfect cross for Wood and great save from Barnes .

Don’t get the negativity we should of buried 1 of them 3 golden chances. We looked solid and the football is exactly the same tonight as when we took 7th,just didn’t pinch one like we usually do.It wasn’t pretty granted I personally don’t fear the two big hitters next two games they both shipping goals for fun! WBA put 3 past Chelsea !

Positives:

Clean sheet
Pope played very well
Long good
Tarks looked more like his normal self
Dwight very good without creating anything
Could’ve scored two
JBG back

Negatives:

Overall play
Constant hoofball
Set pieces very predictable
JBG anonymous (tbf - Dwight has been in recent games but looked great tonight)
Created few chances - counted two saves from their keeper

Overall, gutted.

WBA were sat pretty deep so not sure how much effect Vydra would have had on things. I'd have brought Jay on much earlier as his link up play helps us create more. The game was never really stretched to bring on a livewire IMO. Agree with pumping high balls though.

Look at our record against the bottom half teams the last few seasons moron. It's why we've stayed up comfortably the last few years.

It’s a point and a clean sheet, there will be games we expect to win that we lose and vice-versa. This is a team that put 3 past Chelski, for example.

This is a more positive result than, say, Sheffield United’s 1-1 draw at home to Fulham.

the worry is the creativity. We had enough chances to win tonight and was a classic Dyche performance but better teams will stop Dwight. Then what? Our only plan so far this season is Westy knocking high channel balls in behind. & set pieces!

Terrible game, decent point, but it could and probably should have more.

Nice to keep a clean sheet, and we looked better tonight, Dwight especially was bright, but both teams lacked a cutting edge.

Very early days but the bottom 4 are all looking poor in the opening weeks of the campaign, and unless any show drastic improvement it's perming 3 from those 4, of course others could easily get drawn into the fray, but the league as a whole has vastly improved, and it'll be harder to survive then the last few seasons.

The plusses are we denied West Brom a home win, and on that showing they're going to struggle to gain many points, mind you the same could be said of us.

It certainly wasn't an advert for the PL, and I feel for those who forked out £15 to watch it.

Exactly why I’m very worried. Absolutely no creativity, which should’ve been a priority for us this summer.

No issue with us relying on Winning FK’s anywhere in their half and nicking a goal. Genuinely appreciate it as much as free flowing football. When it works.

Tonight, no midfield creativity on the right or middle (Dwight was good). Poor set piece delivery - wtf was that at the end? And absolutely no variety - that WBA corner that tore us apart... we should try some of that if we’re going to rely on it to win games!

Agree with the rest. Others have moved forward. We have stood still albeit still don’t have everyone back. Looking like a long season ahead.

I thought we played well and ran the game for the most part. A typical Burnley performance from last season. We deserved three points, Wood and Barnes (2) should have scored.

Not unhappy with that result...we missed a couple where we probably should have scored.Dwight was brilliant tonight and Pieters did well again playing in an unfamiliar role.

Solid away performance in my opinion. We could've easily nicked it in the second half.

Seriously though guys of which injured player returning is going to make us better going forward,I can't think of one??
This is true. Exactly why I could excuse sticking with Long and Dunne as defensive cover (albeit not ideal), but there is literally 0 creativity to add from the bench.

Mee and Cork are very much missed. Have understood their value much more since their injuries.
