Today's footie 20/10/20
I couldn't see a thread so here goes.
Chelsea and United in CL action, and a host of Championship and lower league games.
In the early CL games, Juve have just taken the lead at Dynamo Kyiv.

Re: Today's footie 20/10/20
I was going to mention Bolton Wanderers, so I'll do it here.
We've all had a lot to say about them over the last decade, but their fall (well, tumble) from grace is given even more significance this evening. They are 2-0 at Barrow after 4 minutes.
I can't quite get my head around it.

It's quite understandable to me, don't forget Barrow are 10 years ahead of Bolton, aren't they?

I think it's a gentleman's agreement that I post the lineups, you post the "Today's footy/footie" threads and IanMcL posts the match threads.

Re: Today's footie 20/10/20
Yep- Morata has scored for Juve (going for their 10th domestic title on the trot this season).
Some good fixtures tonight in Europe and domestically.
Cheltenham are 1-0 up home to Scunthorpe, into the 2nd half - keeping the pressure on towards the top of League 2.
Bolton now pulled one back up in Barrow.
In the Championship:
Gibson starting for Norwich at home to Brum,
Current top two (Brizzle and Reading) both with winable home games.

Don't fancy United's chances with Maguire out. Had a lot of unfair stick IMO but he's still their best centre back and only real leader.

Re: Today's footie 20/10/20
Well I'm not posting the match threads anymore, because every time I posted them we lost, so Ian and Madge are welcome to take the reins.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 7:16 pmI think it's a gentleman's agreement that I post the lineups, you post the "Today's footy/footie" threads and IanMcL posts the match threads.
And you can do the lineups if you wish.
I don't know whether any of us would qualify as gentlemen however

Re: Today's footie 20/10/20
Comfortable win for Juve, a double for Morata in a 2-0 victory.
3-2 at Barrow now in a thriller.
And it's not been a happy few days for Ryan Fulton of Hamilton, he shipped 5 at the weekend, and he's conceded another 4 in the 1st half at Pittodrie, Brian Easton is on the bench for the Accies, after his return from injury.

Re: Today's footie 20/10/20
A penalty for Man U that's a rare event, Fernandes was a lucky boy getting a 2nd bite at the cherry, I can't see United keeping a clean sheet against Mbappe and Neymar for 90 minutes though.
Barca 1 up some chap by the name of Messi converting a pen, they sound shaky at the back though.

Re: Today's footie 20/10/20
A bit of a turn up in League 1, Ipswich 4-1 down at Donny, and heading for the 1st defeat of the season.
Accy 1-0 to the good in the closing minutes in the big derby with Fleetwood.

United snatch it at the death in Paris again.
Chelsea still 0-0 which is surprising.

Re: Today's footie 20/10/20
Yes it's the group stage farce, and even with my terrible predictions this season, I'd be confident of getting most of the teams to make the KO stages, let's be honest you don't have to be Einstein to predict the last 16, it's always the usual suspects, with the odd expectation thrown in, this is why it's becoming sterile, it's to predictable.
