I confess I didn't see the match or listen on the radio. Because of this I am reliant on reading the reports and opinions shared on here as well as the national press. I had got an impression of things - applying the usual filters - and then read this and felt slightly better. Though I still think you don't get points from performance and we need some by any means.

Did this reporter go on the same match as some on this board?

I agree with this. I thought we were excellent last night.
We looked strong, but carried a threat going forward.
I fancy us to beat Chelsea this weekend.

Nullified is the word that sums the match up - thats what we did - it was a typical Burnley performance with our defending it could've gone another way if we had taken our chances.
Its going to be a tough season, but there was a lot to build on last night and I'm more confident than I was before about staying up.

Their efforts were largely legal, but no mention of Lamela red card challenge, ok then.

You do. It's the performance that generally wins you the points. You might get an odd point or two that your performance doesn't deserve but otherwise you need to play well enough.cblantfanclub wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 10:19 amThough I still think you don't get points from performance and we need some by any means.
Steve Cotterill once said to me that you can't prepare a team to win a game because the slightest thing can go against you, dodgy decision etc. that prevents it. He said you could only prepare to play as well as you can and that in itself will bring the points.

Can't dispute that. Maybe I should have said for performance.
