Xpert11 Online Football Manager- Clarets Championship Recruiting for Season 57
Xpert11 Online Football Manager- Clarets Championship Recruiting for Season 57
Hello everyone.
Xpert11 is an online football management game that lets you build a team, set the tactics, make the press releases all whilst competing against like-minded people. It can take as little as 10 minutes a week to as much as 20 minutes an hour if you get hooked.
We have a Clarets Championship where there are currently 41 active teams managed by Clarets fans. We're about to enter our 57th season.
If this sounds even slightly interesting to you then why not give it a go? You can sign up at the website http://www.xperteleven.com" once registered you can find the league using the league ID 43119. I'll then need to approve the application which will take up to a maximum of 24 hours.
You will be able to either take over an existing team that's sacked it's manager (for inactivity, not poor performance - you can be as poor as you want and stay in the job!) or start up an entirely new team.
The season will be a week or two away from starting but best to sign up now to get in before the door closes and so you can get the most from pre-season.
Any questions please feel free to fire away and I, or one of the league's many managers, will answer.
Thanks for your time!

Re: Xpert11 Online Football Manager- Clarets Championship Recruiting for Season 57
I'm going into my 6th season with Tekaboo FC. Spent the first couple of seasons in Clarets Division 1 (basically The Championship). Have really made progress in recent seasons and have finished 4th in the Clarets Championship (top flight) this campaign. My team is getting closer to challenging the big boys! The game has enough depth to make it fun while still being very easy to play. It's true that you can spend as little as a few mins per week. I spend a little more than that, particularly in the off-season when I'm scouting new players. Anyway, it's a free game that I've never paid a penny for (absolutely no pay to win involved). Worth having a go if you're interested in playing with fellow clarets!

Hello everyone.
I've been playing this game since 2003 (17 years - bloody hell) and it's a great little game.
OK - being realistic you aren't going to challenge for a title in your first season but its a very level playing field. Invest in youths, mix in a couple of veterans, and you can soon get a decent conveyor belt of decent young players going and sooner than you know it you'll be winning divisions and rising up to the top flight.
In these times of lockdown its a fun way to pass time without leaving the house!

Fond memories of the early leagues. Wish I had time to see how it had changed over the years.
Glad it is still going strong. Best of luck everyone. Wish I had time to join.

Hello everyone. League admin here.
We have reached the end of the season and have a half dozen manager spots available again.
If you've always seen this thread but never thought of taking the plunge, why not give it a try. There's bugger all else to do during lockdown after all.

Re: Xpert11 Online Football Manager- Clarets Championship Recruiting for Season 57
I definitely recommend this game. It's totally free to play and doesn't require much of a time commitment at all. I've taken my Tekaboo FC team to the top flight and we challenged for the title last season, sadly missing out. We've not done as well this season and I've had to adjust my approach. Just when I thought I had the hang of it, I'm being tested again. That's made it more fun if anything as I'm now rethinking my strategies (tactics, player recruitment, training etc). I'm now planning on buying some younger players and building for the future. Happy to answer any questions.

Cheers William. You are one of the success stories for sure. A new manager can take their team all the way to the stop.

Well worth joining up and giving this a go. Completely free and doesn't take a big time commitment whilst also being really fun and immersive.

I remember playing this back in 2007 at Brew FC. I remember it because it was the year my daughter was born, of course this year she'll be 14.
Are there any founder members still in it?

I think Goody1975 will be a founding member that's still active.
I first started in around 2002 with the aptly named Ballys Tackle. I had a break and come back playing 4 or 5 years ago.

Re: Xpert11 Online Football Manager- Clarets Championship Recruiting for Season 57
I started in the first ever season and was quite successful early on but i haven't paid enough attention to it for a few years. You don't have to spend hours on it as a manager but a long term plan is useful and that's not something I've had for quite some time!!!Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 5:38 pmI think Goody1975 will be a founding member that's still active.

I don't have the same time to commit as I used to but it has been going as a league since Nov 2005 and that must be one of the longest serving on XpertEleven.
It's great to see Jim back in charge of things, he is a great admin and in about ten seasons he might be a great manager again!!!

Judging by the teams available in the job centre I would create your own.Edd_Claret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 5:58 pmI’m up for this. Is it best to join an existing team or set up my own?
Start from scratch.
Make sure you get your 1m econ every week and do a press bonus if you can for 200k a week.
Get rid of all your bad players and replace with 17yr old 4 skills. Get better as you go.

Just to add, I started back playing 3 and a half years ago in the 4th tier.
I have just won this seasons top flight after being runner up last season. It only takes a few seasons to build up a top side if you do it right.

Just seen that two of the new managers have struck gold with youth players.
Edd Rovers with his 17yr old 6 skill and Hapton anarchy with their 18yr old 7 skill.

I've just started the season.
However there is still one manager vacancy available. Any newcomers would have to apply to take over an existing team (or wait until May for a new team!).

Both on the same skill-path of the 16/5 I just paid 21.5million for and the 19/8 I just paid 11million for.

I sold my entire squad and saved 1million a week for two seasons whilst plummeting down the divisions. Once I got to 100million I bought a new youthful squad. It'll still be at least 5 or 6 more seasons before they're competitive. It's a LOOOOONNG process to get that much cash. I don't recommend it for a new manager like yourself. I'd already had a lot of good seasons with my old squad.Edd_Claret wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 11:49 amOh to have 11 million to spend, think I need to start saving up

No, no, no. Keep him. You might not get another superstar.
Just start buying as many 17yr old 4 stars as you can. You can pay as little as 200k econ. If they play every game of the season they have a good chance of double jumping skill levels.
Don't waste any money on training any 26yr old 6 skill.

Re: Xpert11 Online Football Manager- Clarets Championship Recruiting for Season 57
I'd agree with that.
No point wasting any money on any youth on anything less than a 18/4 skill-path.
I probably need to explain what we mean in a little more detail. At the end of the season a player's skill is recalculated based on their development during the season along with their average form. What you'd want from a youth player is to increase by at least 1 skill bar per season update.
18/4 means an 18 year old with 4 skill bars.
So a player on an 18/4 path would become a 19/5, then a 20/6 and so on.
If you can get them on a 17/4 skill-path then even better!
Obviously a 26/8 might look good in the short term but the money spent form training him may be better spent buying and training a 17/4 who would become a 26/12 or better in due course.

Cheers for the advice guys.
I've already decided that youth is the way forward and will be playing mostly younger players. I jumped in stupidly and bought a player I shouldn't have (I'm very impatient) but I've learnt from that already

I've just had a look at the squad and it looks like you have done really well in recruitment. You should win the division at a canter and probably the top division within 4 seasons.Falcon wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 11:51 amI sold my entire squad and saved 1million a week for two seasons whilst plummeting down the divisions. I don't think I would have bought 2 young keepers though as only 1 will develop how you want. I would have good the experienced keeper route.

Hello,
Season 58 is now all-but over, and as we look forward to Season 59 there is one team with a manager vacancy.
Anyone reading this who has never had a bash at this game, or who has played in the past and would like a return, please do give it a bash.
If more than one person applies to join, then all the better. Nowt wrong with a bit of expansion!

Poor Tekaboo FC have suffered a huge number of injuries this season and our small, relatively young squad hasn't quite been able to hang on in there. I've been playing for quite a few seasons now and I'm still learning. I've recently changed my approach and have spent more money on training my players and on the youth setup (as opposed to scouting and buying players in the transfer market). Let's see how that plays out going forward!
Anyway, I really recommend this game to anyone who has a bit of free time. The game is totally free (no pay to win whatsoever) and you can spend as much or as little time as you like. It has been especially good fun this last season with so many active managers (hence why there's only one manager vacancy at present).
