Re: Great article about Joe Biden
sorry, yes of course
Made a lot of sense, many things I think I already knew so did not find it that enlightening, not much I would disagree with and what there is would be minor and not worth discussing.
I didn't want to get into an argument, hence my previous reply, for me not a great article but maybe for many it will be enlightening and perhaps great but no criticism.

Good article. The comments are a really interesting read too.
I have two american friends who are really decent people, but no matter how much I've sent them articles about how bad Trump is, they still will vote for him. They both think he is a horrible person, but support his policies; I wouldn't be able too separate those two elements when voting. Both also say that Obama was the worst president in US history and believe a lot of what Trump says. I've given up trying to speak logic to them.

Let's hope, for the world's sake, that trump is trumped.
Time he went back inside his head and left us safe.

the fact you proudly post that because you cannot debate anything on policy (because Trump doesn't have any) shows everybody who the zombie is, that's some quality irony.HahaYeah wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 5:18 pmHow to Spot a Zombie

Nate Silver gives him a 90% chance of a victory*
That's assuming all legitimate ballots are counted.

Re: Great article about Joe Biden
It might go up a point or two before Tuesday, but not much more.
I honestly think Trump's going to try and claim that all ballots not counted on November 3rd should be ignored. Or at least that all ballots counted after it should be binned. Stealing it is really the only way he can win this, aside of a massive and widespread polling error.

Re: Great article about Joe Biden
It's started.
Republican party trying to get 100k votes thrown out in Texas.
Also Trump has just thanked Supreme court for winning in Pennsylvania.

America was once seen as a great democracy but it'll be no better than Russia or China when it comes to winning elections.

Re: Great article about Joe Biden
Looking at all the lawsuits it seems there are going to be so many votes thrown out Trump will win the election by a sizeable majority.
Can anyone thing of a good reason as to the point of voting when you know you csnt win?

Re: Great article about Joe Biden
Force him to have to steal it. If you don't turn out to vote then he doesn't need to steal it to win. But if you make him prove that peacefully removing him is impossible then you can be justified in taking certain non-peaceful actions to that end.
I think Biden will win, but when you consider all the cheating Trump will be trying I thing it adds maybe 20 to 30 percent on top of the 10 percent chance Fivethirtyeight.com is giving him.
It'll certainly help his cause if his supporters keep trying to drive Biden campaign buses off the road like they attempted in Texas.

Seems like those in Trump's team think he's lost legitimately:

He's saying he's gonna claim victory on election night if he's ahead in the vote count.Spijed wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 4:38 pmSeems like those in Trump's team think he's lost legitimately:

The problem with that is he's expected to be ahead on the night in the vote count in a lot of key states because mailed ballots aren't counted until after election day, and Dems have a massive advantage in those ballots.
It'll be chaos if he tries that. His supporters will go ape **** when votes are still being counted and he looks like losing.
I fully expect his supporters to try to physically prevent votes being counted. And they won't be doing it peacefully.

Trump will win. Too many shenanigans in play. If I'm right and the election isn't fair, then the cost will be the loss of faith in democracy. Just look where that got us in the past.

He might, and the shenanigans might work. But I think he's too far behind for them to work without being blatantly obvious.
We'll know quite early if Biden has won if he wins either North Carolina or Florida. They're already counting votes and will be almost finished on the night, so if either one of those gets called for him then it's over. But if they're too close to call, or if trump wins both, then the election results could take days/weeks to know.
