Barnes is spending more time arguing with the ref than getting on with the game. It is getting tiresome now. His first touch has been shocking.
I defend Barnes because I do thing he's given short change by most refs... but I think you're right about the arguing - just get on with it Ash...

We are not creating anything which will make it hard to win. Better at the back with Mee though. Barnes and Brady the weak links for me. Let’s get Jay Rod on and play some football.

Pope saves a second 1v1 against Welbeck.

Might be 0-0 at half time but this is as bad as it has been all season from us. Absolutely and utterly dominated, cannot get ball out of our own box let alone half.

Brady hasn’t been terrible going forwards, but just now he made the cardinal sin of assuming the ball was going out of play and turning his back on the ball - Dan Burn ran after it and kept it in.

It’s stuff like that which annoys me about him, seems a bit reckless at times.

Lowton, Barnes and to a lesser extent Brady all major weaklinks here.

Got to bring Rodriguez on.

Ye olde pump it up to Barnes and Wood isn’t doing a thing against this defence. More ingenuity, more cuteness abd more finesse required.

So lucky to have not conceded

Centre mid totally missing in action

And a pair up front just getting the ball hoofed up to them - somethings just don't change

As bad as Newcastle, we’ve just been very lucky to have a great goalkeeper and that they haven’t had their shooting boots on (in my opinion)!

We’re not good enough final third at the moment. Crosses either don’t beat the first man or are overhit, poor passes, scuffed shots.

How much did Lampety cost Brighton looks a real prospect and the all round athlete and footballer we lack.

Fabulous player.

I think Chelsea kept the wrong right back - he’s a far better prospect than Reece James in my opinion.

Out fought and out thought. Giving the ball away too easily in defensive positions, giving the ball away too easily in midfield and strikers not even having the ball to give away! Poor showing after a reasonably bright start.

I disagree - Newcastle was very poor. Today we've had good spells of possession and looked threatening at times. I think the problem some people have is they have goldfish memories and can only remember the last 20 seconds of play...

Brighton look a much better team but a bit toothless upfront. If we nick a goal with a bit of anti football I can see us winning this 1-0 and boy do we need a win cos we aint very good

Their right back has offered more going forwards wide than McNeil and Brady combined.

It's hard to not be negative, but we knocked the ball around well, but with no end result not one cross has been put in, Dwight not done anything of note wether thats down to tatics or Dwight himself who knows, things can only get better

The trouble is when we’re on a bad run, some people just look for the negatives! Brighton away was one of our worst performances last season, and we still came away with a point! Just need to pick up the pace second half

Lets hope they keep someone close to their right back-Lampety. He ran riot at Turf Moor last game of season. If the coaches have not even thought of this, then there is something seriously wrong in the way we prepare

We beat Palace last time by nullifying Zaha, largely through Bardsley and Brownhill supporting each other

Just saying !!
Not sure Lampety was on our radar, seems to be involved in everything going forward on the right
