One to miss. Awful watch. An away point is normally decent. Not in this instance.

Pope - 8 kept us in the game, and a major reason we got a point
Lowton - 7
Tarky - 8 looks more like himself with his partner back
Mee - 8 welcome back skip, solid other that literally a few slips
Taylor- 8 some great blocks, another that more than played his part in getting a point
Brady - 5 offered zilch, very lightweight
Brownhill- 6 worked hard but nothing more
Westwood 6 - as above
McNeil- 5 anonymous, I'm not sure he ever passed forwards or had an attacking run.
Barnes - 4 lost us possession nearly every time he was involved by either fouling, falling over or misplaced passes
Wood - 5 offered no threat but not quite as bad as Barnes

What a horrible watch, not quite sure of what the game plan is but it clearly isnt working, and i can't see that game plan or performance getting another 36 points this season.
We look clueless in the final 3rd, and now no goals in the last 4 games is very worrying.
However we deserved nothing but got a point so I suppose thats the positive from tonights game.

It will be interesting if Mr Dyche saw it differently.

Pope 8 two class saves. Marked down for his ditribution which is now a worry
Lowton 7 Sound but on his heels quite a bit
Tarkowski 8 back to his best
Mee 8 Solid. Brave. But did get lucky near the end with the slip.
Taylor 7 Same as Lowton. Looked to be very sluggish chasing back at times.
Brady 7 Our better outlet going forward and tried a few tricks.
Westwood 5 didnt realise he was playing
Brownhill 5 as above. Genuinely didnt know if it was them two or Cork and Stephens in the middle.
McNeil 6 Poor. Should have taken a chance when it landed outside the box. Didnt take the game to them.
Wood 5 Offered nothing but got nothing
Barnes 5 As above

Pirlo would struggle with distribution in this team. Pause the game at any time when one of our players wants to make a pass. Count how many players want the ball.

Pope - 8 made some great blocks/saves to keep us in it. Goal kicks a little worry today.
Lowton 7 - played well mainly a few brainless moments.
Tarks 7 - solid enough today
Mee 8 - 8 thank **** he's back, how we've missed him
Taylor 8* - fantasric blocks and defensive work today a real shift.
McNeil - 4 looks knackered and out of it, wish he wasn't going to internationals.
Westwood - 6 worked hard
Brownhill - 6 worked hard
Brady - 6 thought he had some good moments today nice ball over top and a few decent crosses.
Barnes - 3 not sure what he offered today. Time for Jay Rod
Wood - 3 didn't do anything

A clean sheet is a clean sheet, defensively sound but offensively a bit of a worry Vydra did more with his run then our 3 strikers together.

Pope 7
Lowton 6
Tarkowski 7 better with Mee alongside him
Mee 8 glad he’s back really good game
Taylor 7 very consistent
Brady 3 awful I hate watching him being honest. Stealing a living imo
Westwood 4
Brownhill 4
McNeil 4 if we had another option he’d be benched
Wood 5 but zero service
Barnes just looks poor now

J Rod no real impact
Vydra too late
Dyche poor. Just keep doing the same thing over and over again.
Garlick 0 it’s primarily his fault we can’t make changes to this ill equiped team

At least it’s a point but that’s not entertaining.

Pope - 7. Far busier than he should have been but dealt with everthing

Lowton - 6 clean sheet but some sloppy passing and got very lucky in the first half
Tarks - 7
Mee - 7 - good to have him back but needs different studs
Taylor - 5 - thought he was given a torrid time by Lamptey

McNeil - 4 based on form he should be dropped
Westwood - 6
Brownhill - 5 - not nearly influential enough
Brady -4 - I cannot understand what prompted us to take out the extra year option

Barnes - 4 - like McNeil is doing nothing to suggest he keeps his place
Wood - 4 - little service but is allowed to go looking for it.

Another point. Another clean sheet. Another horrific performance.
We can't go on like this. Something has got to change because 33 0-0 draws won't keep us up.
It is really hard to watch.

Finally, as it's rare I come on here - delighted to see the Messageboard has become a football Messageboard again - great move - I may visit a bit more now. I wish all the political melts and spanners the very best as they try to force their views on others somewhere else.

All - 5.

Barnes and Wood has to be broken up. It isn't working. It currently looks like the equivalent of Windows 98.

Pope 5 Needs to desperately work on his kicking
Lowton 3 If we haven`t got an U23 better than him God help us, complete liability
Tarkowski 8 Steady away
Mee 8 Good to have him back steadied the ship defensively
Taylor 6 Defensively sound, whats happened to his overlapping runs

Brady 7 At least he tried to make things happen and put the effort in, looked knackered at the end
Westwood 6 Run ragged
Brownhill 6 as above
McNeil 3 More reverse gears than an Italian tank, doesn`t seem confident taking a man on anymore and his crossing was sh**e

Barnes 4 Both forwards lacked service but there ball retention was pathetic at best
Wood 4

Rodriguez 5 Gave us more mobility but not a lot else
Vydra 5 Early chance but no support when he was forced narrow

Dyche 3 Not buying a proper right back 3 years ago, persisting with a front two constantly under achieving, leaving subs till it`s too late to really affect the game.

Never seen us looking so pedestrian and bereft of ideas or a game plan under Dyche. Woeful

Exactly that mate! Nobody looks comfortable on the ball including our best player in McNeil which is worrying

Pope - 7 (-1 for distribution)
Lowton - 4 simply not good enough
Tarkowski - 7
Mee - 8* solidified us
Taylor - 6
Brady - 5 never looked the same since his injury
Westwood - 4 way off this season
Brownhill - 6
McNeil - 4 offering nowt at the moment
Wood - 5 anonymous but gets no service
Barnes - 4 not working with him in

Rodriguez - 5 barely touched it

Pathetic display from midfield. Too many players off this season and our dire tactics are earring thin. Big changes needed. Hopefully Bardsley and Jay start next game

Pope - 8 not troubled and was assured with the ball
Lowton - 6 OK but just seems to flap and get caught out of position a lot
Tarks - 8 good game, got his partner back
Mee- 9 probably an 8 really but so glad to have him back, he can have an extra point
Taylor - 8 dependable and gets in the right positions a lot
McNeil 4 - Summat up with this lad, head down and looks uninterested
Westwood - 5 Didn't create much at all
Brownhill - 5 This is his best position but wasn't involved
Brady - 7 won't ever impress defensively, but has a football brain going forward, sadly those played up front of him don't
Barnes - 4 worked hard for a championship centre forward
Wood - 3 Terrible, no footballing brain, the ball just bounces off him and for a big lad he's knocked off the ball very easily

Subs - 5

We need to score goals !!!!!

It worked about two years ago though, so it seems like we have to persist with it for eternity now.

Dreadful, toothless, clueless

We are the only team in the league now without any pace what so ever. All teams do now is drag us on by defending deep so we lose our shape. It really is that predictable. We look old fashioned and miles off it

Barnes and Wood as a force is done

Its Dreadful to watch atm

Pope 7
Lowton 5 a player going backwards
Taylor 6
Mee 8 MOM
Tarkowski 7
Brady 3 woeful completely out of his depth at this level
Brownhill 5 ineffective
Westwood 5 as above
McNeil 5 as above
Barnes 3 totally ineffective no idea why we are persisting starting him
Wood 3 feeding off scraps

A clean sheet and a point but god it is turgid to watch. Obviously Dyche and his coaches are seeing something we aren’t in persisting with Barnes up front and keeping Brady on for 90 minutes.

For a moment in the first half we had some great possession and were passing it around with aplomb. Just needed some end product. But after that it became so predictable and have to say it tortuous to watch. Football is about entertainment and that game fell well short. As have most of Burnley's recent games this season. Almost embarrassing for us to be on PPV.

Pope --- 7 : couple of wobbles when resorting to his feet but kept us in the game and showed good handling.
Lowton -- 7 : Almost fluked a goal and had quite an involved game.
Tarks -- 6 : Standard.
Mee -- 8 : Great performance. We've missed him. So good to see him back
Taylor --- 7 : Nothing too memorable

Brownhill -- 3 : The most ordinary, unexceptional, midfielder I've seen in a Burnley shirt in a long time. What on earth is he all about. Maybe he'll develop into a superb £20m player in the next year or two. Not holding my breath.
McNiell -- 3 : Hasn't been at the races for a while now. Almost reduced us to 10 men he was that ineffectual. Should've been subbed. We're missing the old McNiel. Maybe needs a reality check and get dropped for a game or two.
Westwood. -- 6 : By far our most reliable and consistent midfielder.
Brady -- 5 : Has the potential .... hopefully can get in to it more with a few more games ... if he can stay uninjured !

Barnes -- 4 : So bored with him tbh. All that falling over and look of injustice everytime. Wish he could just get on with it .
Wood -- 7 : Did everything asked of him. Holds it up nicely; finds a player with his lay off. Just not given much service.

Jayrod -- 5 : Surely he's got more in his locker than Barnes . Can't understand how he's not starting ahead of him.

Pope 8 Just wish his kicking could be better
Lowton 7 unlucky with his crossbar shot
Tarkowski 8 solid Tarka the Stopper performance
Mee 8 MotM recovered after the early scare with that slip
Taylor 8 another class Taylor performance
Brady 6 Curates Egg ... good in parts
Westwood 5 ditto
Brownhill 6 not his usual solid game
McNeil 4 looks a bit jaded but was battered by Brightons mini marvel.
Barnes 4 tried hard but no service
Wood 4 tried hard but no service

JayRod 5 not enough time to get up to speed

Another sorry performance. The 'prudence' of the last few transfer windows is now coming home to roost. It's like watching walking football, but the opposition are allowed to run. We cannot keep hold of the ball, our options in midfield are either sideways or back to the defenders. The defenders option is either a long hopeful ball down the channels or try to hit one of our forwards and pick up second ball. 1 goal in 6 games, 1 weak header on target in 2 games tells the story. The problem I see is that we have no way out of this. We could swap Brady for JBG. One ineffective wide player for another. Jay/Vydra for Barnes/Wood? Pointless when we don't have the players to create something for them.

If you stand still at this level then you go backwards. We haven't even stood still, we have gone backwards before everyone else takes that step forwards. I haven't really felt our position has been threatened in each of the past 4 seasons. I certainly can't say that this season.

Pope 7 Generally good but his kicking is a concern
Lowton 4 About as mobile as a slug. Nearly scored with a poor cross
Tarky 6 Got caught under the ball a couple of times which luckily didn’t cause a goal
Mee 8 Great to have the skipper back. Needs new boots though!
Taylor 7 Ok but what has happened to the attacking side of his game
Brady 6 Plays like he’s got loads of time on the ball but usually gets dispossessed
Westy 4 Never seen him as poor as the start he’s made to this season
Brownhill 5 Better than Stephens has been but that’s not been hard
McNeil 3 Maybe needs a spell out of the side to refocus
Wood 4 Ineffective, slow and surprisingly weak when he’s near the ball for a big lad
Barnes 3 top quality whinger but currently a very poor impression of a footballer
Jay 4 Don’t think he actually kicked the ball

We are so short of every other team in the league it’s embarrassing. Brighton are poor, Lamptey apart, and are going to be very close to the bottom 3 at the end of the season and they completely bossed the game. We are already close to being beyond the point of no return and the way we are playing it doesn’t look like that will change soon.

Pope 7
Lowton 6
Tarkowski 6
Mee 8
Taylor 6 - Would have given more but he was awful in the first half and excellent in the second.
Brady 5
Westwood 5
Brownhill 5
McNeil 5
Wood 4
Barnes 4
Rodriguez 5

Brighton full backs and wingers won the war, but didn't get the victory they deserve, and despite some bad play all our players put in a good shift and generally performed great in defence.

9's for Ben Mee? Really?? The guy who almost cost us a goal in the first couple of minutes then took out one of their players late on and was lucky not to give away a free kick and pick up a card?

He was decent and it was nice to have him back but nobody in our team deserved above a 7 IMO.

I feel for the forwards getting pelters when they have nothing to work with due to the abysmal supply from the midfield. McNeil is way off and needs dropping.

You mean the two times when he slipped?

Pope 8(mom) - made two brilliant saves
Lowton 6 - steady away but not the same player as he was 2 seasons ago
Tarkowski 7 solid
Mee 7 - good to have him back - I hope we don't see Long again this season
Taylor 8 - tricky opponent but did well and a couple of top blocks
Brady 5 - occasional flashes but will need a decent run to get going
Westwood 5 - off the pace today
Brownhill 5 - started really well but faded terribly after 25 mins
McNeill 3 - awful. Just awful
Barnes 4 - tried hard but lacked outcome
Wood 4 - feeding off scraps but offered little

Rodriguez 5 - on too late, had little chance to impact seeing the rest of the side seemed to have decided 0-0 was good enough

Really really poor performance bar the solid back line. Decent first 20-25 then all of a sudden we stopped asking questions of them. And worryingly Dyche didn't seem to have any answers or suggestions
