That is so sad to read.

I think I may have been told or read about it when I was a lad..not sure.

Pleased that we won 3-1 for them

My late Grandma has (had) brothers,sisters and cousins etc from Blacko,Earby and the Dales.some of whom are/were Burnley fans.

Tragic tale of loss, and made even more poignant by them surviving the First World War, and then perishing in these circumstances. :cry:

I am like many in being unaware of this incident, is anybody at the club aware of it? because if possible we should try and give them a fitting memorial, perhaps somewhere in the Turf Moor Memorial Garden if that's possible, I'd certainly be happy to chip in a modest contribution towards such a venture.

What a sad and tragic story. That was the season, of course, if things had worked out differently, that those lads would have seen us win the First Division title for the first time.
