One of them owns the used car place at Colne, the other doesn't.

Re: Paul
I don't particularly like both but McCartney's song writing is on a much higher level to Weller. If you get into the music theory behind it all then it is pretty obvious.

2/10 Try to transfer some of your core movement into the shoulder as the rod comes over, and release the line a fraction earlier. That will ensure the splash is reduced significantly, thus increasing your chances.

Re: Paul
I liked Weller in the Jam, but the rest of his stuff..well.
McCartney was a Beatle , that's hard to ignore.

Re: Paul
Legendary musician Paul McCartney sat down with 60 Minutes correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi for an in-depth chat about his new album, Egypt Station, and he revealed something rather contradictory: he is unable to read or write music, and neither could any of his Beatles bandmates.
Despite his songwriting success, the 76-year-old admitted he was embarrassed about the fact that he doesn’t understand music theory.
“I don’t see music as dots on a page. It’s something in my head that goes on.”

Re: Paul
Many musicians don't read. Probably the best ones.
Anyhow, here's a track from McCartney:

Re: Paul
Such a daft comparison. You might as well throw Paul Simon and Paul Anka in there as well.

I like the The Jam and Style Council, but can’t stand Weller’s solo stuff. Far too bland for me.
McCartney was the better half of the greatest ever songwriting duo

Re: Paul
I met McCartney many times whilst restoring his house in Sussex thirty odd years ago, he was a really pleasant and very down to earth chap, though his wife Linda was as mad as a box of frogs; we spent about £5k of Paul's money making lions smile for her.
To be fair I once met Paul Weller as well and he was nice enough too; he autographed my 'In the City' LP outside Northallerton Community centre, in about 1976 or 77.

Re: Paul
I can only admit to meeting McCartney once - I got the same impression of him too. I have to say that I thought similarly about Linda although it was only a brief chat.AfloatinClaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 1:00 pmI met McCartney many times whilst restoring his house in Sussex thirty odd years ago, he was a really pleasant and very down to earth chap, though his wife Linda was as mad as a box of frogs; we spent about £5k of Paul's money making lions smile for her.

I've only ever met, to my knowledge, one Paul Weller who is an advertiser on this message board.

Re: Paul
Weller's solo stuff has been a touch patchy yes but the best of it is brilliant. The lastest album, On Sunset, is one of his strongest solo albums too. Overall it's a bit of a daft question as both were prodigies and are phenomenal talents really.claret2018 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 12:33 pmI like the The Jam and Style Council, but can’t stand Weller’s solo stuff.
