Re: Worst TV shows of all time
Someone pasted a thread about the utterly pointless “masked singer” the other day...
Monkey tennis? That really is where we are at now.
We really are scraping the barrel now with tv and the people on it who are called “stars”. They are so desperate to remain relevant and in the public domain they will do absolutely ANYTHING to keep their mugs on the telly...

You are absolutely spot on here. What annoys me is people who pretend to do things for charity. They don't give a flying seahorse about what they are raising money for, so long as they are paid.

Re: Worst TV shows of all time
I can pretty much understand why people will watch almost anything, apart from Eastenders. It baffles me how anyone could sit through an episode of what’s essentially a PG rated, lo-rent gangster film
Re: Worst TV shows of all time
C4 or E4, Celebrity Snoop Dogs, cameras fitted to dogs and roaming around the house.
Saw it advertised during the summer, talk about scraping the barrel.

Hmmmm. Most Scottish comedy is poor, but give “Two doors Down” a try. Very funny, especially the one where the pretentious couple, from 2 doors down, get burgled.

The One Show.
This show had no equals in how bad tv has become.
Until these gems appeared…
The Big Pottery Throw Down and the more recently horrible The Dog Grooming show - absolute shyte.
Nothing makes me grab the remote faster

No chance.
Clever TV game show.
Different games all the time, what's not to like?
The music lyric intro round is genius.
Re: Worst TV shows of all time
Going against your most people are thick assumption, my, Doctor of Clinical Psychology wife has worked for the NHS as a clinical director and now runs a COVID lamp testing lab from no notice whatsoever and she loves programme's like X Factor, Strictly and I'm a Celeb as they require no thinking whatsoever and give her time to switch off. There's something for everyone.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 1:13 pmBasically, any entertainment show that pulls in millions of viewers - X Factor, I'm a Celeb, Mrs Browns Boys, Mirana Hart..., Michael ******* McIntyre and Strictly - anything that appeals to the Lowest Common Denominator on a mass scale. Makes you realise that most people are thick.
Though, for me, there are shows that that are really crap, but I have a soft spot for - Come Dine With Me being one, the other at the moment is American Pickers, I think thats on one of the Discovery Channels. My guilty pleasure is WWE Wresting... but its self-aware enough to know that its **** - its not what it was though.

Have you watched Afterlife and Derek?Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 6:36 pmAnything with the poisoned Geordies Anthony and Declan in it
Anything with Ricky Gervais, any reality shows. They are cheap trashy tv and most rubbish comedy that comes from USA

Not quite sure what that means, but....

Roy Barraclough's(Alec Gilroy) description of the character, Jim Mcdonald as 'the mad Irishman' was priceless.

Too nuanced for you Steve. The gag is that we all KNOW the joke is about Mrs Slocombes pussy. It’s how long the screenwriters and cast make you wait for it so it becomes excruciating ... that’s the key. It’s old Brian Rix west end drop your trousers farce brought to TV.

Re: Worst TV shows of all time
I very rarely watch TV but I caught a glimpse the other day of some chat show type woman interviewing some guy about Louise Redknapp's appearance on "The Masked Dancer" and the gist of the conversation was "OMG, we had no idea it was her". My first thought was how can you possibly expect to know it's her, and isn't that literally the point of the whole show, she was wearing a mask and full body costume FFS

I get it, if someone hates a show nothing will persuade them otherwise.
I thought Afterlife was one of the finest things I have seen on TV.
