Last of the summer wine was on our screens for 40 years and I don't think there was ever a funny moment in it.

Best moment of that was the closing credits of the last ever programme 😉

My uncle loved it and said it was 'comedy for grown ups. Now I've grown up (arguably) I still don't get it. Mind you he called Rock n Roll, jungle music. He only ever listened to classical music. Proper oddball my uncle was. I blame his wife. He was a rocker in his younger days and rode a motorbike. Then he met her

Kick Off

This should have been a good watch but was lamentable in no small measure due to the inept Elton Wellbiased.

At least Kick Off had proper football in it. There hardly seems to be any in Football Focus these days - I used to look forward to it but can't be bothered these days. The BBC seems to be mainly (1) worrying about Arsenal, (2) asking how good/bad the Liverpool/Man City defences are or (3) promoting the careers of ex-footballers who might become TV presenters.

Probably getting mixed up here. Was that the show that was broadcast about 5.30pm on a Saturday? If traffic was good on the way back from t' Turf you could watch the goals all over again? Or am I mixing it up with a pre-game programme?
Either way. Welsby was an annoyance and had a weird fascination with Tranmere Rovers.

Big Bang Theory - don't talk cobblers.
It's all about opinions but I'd be interested to know what you like about big bang theory. For me it's typical American 'comedy show' claptrap.

Mrs CM got a pair of tickets given to see Mrs Browns Boys at the Manchester Arena a few years ago and I was emotionally blackmailed to go with her. It was even worse live than on TV (which I try to avoid) and was painful to sit through, but at least won me some brownie points (pun?) for away matches, etc.

Basically, any entertainment show that pulls in millions of viewers - X Factor, I'm a Celeb, Mrs Browns Boys, Mirana Hart..., Michael ******* McIntyre and Strictly - anything that appeals to the Lowest Common Denominator on a mass scale. Makes you realise that most people are thick.

Though, for me, there are shows that that are really crap, but I have a soft spot for - Come Dine With Me being one, the other at the moment is American Pickers, I think thats on one of the Discovery Channels. My guilty pleasure is WWE Wresting... but its self-aware enough to know that its **** - its not what it was though.

Fair enough, humour is subjective. But The Office was a groundbreaking show and shouldn't be anywhere near a list of the worst TV shows of all time.

Eastenders has got to be right up there.
A load of charicature cockerneys screaming threats at each other for 30 minutes each episode and a ludicrous little fat bald "hard man".
Jesus wept.

Mrs. Brown's Boys is like a flawed alternate reality where sitcoms like The League of Gentlemen and Father Ted never existed.

I can't be doing with Spitter's punditry on Sky Sports. I don't mind Gary Nev. He's kind of grown on me. Mind you, even I would look good if I was paired with Spitter.

I am stuck in a dead person's house waiting for a door panel fitter but having looked at his collection of dvds thought of you lot. Ignoring the train spotting ones, he has 48 and they include:-
On the buses (2)
Coronation Street (10)
Crossroads(1)
Last of the summer whine (6)
Something curiously marked "s and d" which had me thinking it might be submission and dominance but is actually "sons and daughters" whatever that was (5)
Based on this selection of classics, I'm guessing that are you being served (4), nearest and dearest, Les Dawson, heartbeat and Jersey Boys should all have been included on our list above. He does not seem to have access to our game v crystal Palace either. Grrrrr.

There were lots of 70s and 80s sitcoms that were extremely bad but one that springs to mind was Bottle Boys about milkman starring Robin Askwith how that ever got commissioned god knows. Also a lot of the American imports are bad can anyone remember a remake of the Munsters?

Can't let that one go unchallenged.
Ant and Dec are very good presenters and have been for a long time both recorded and live which cannot be easy and you just have to watch other people struggle with it to appreciate that.

Ricky Gervais - are you mad? The guy is a genius.
The Office was brilliantly original and very funny.
Afterlife has to be one of my favourite shows in recent years, both very funny and very sad at the same time.
As a stand up and also as a presenter of major shows he excels.

Agree with you on most reality shows though.

Emily Atack is trying and failing (quite badly) to emulate her mum from the 80's Kate Robbins an accomplished mimic who feature heavily doing voices on the original "Spitting Image"
