Re: Pep signs new contract
I wonder why he has extended his contract at the multi billion pound club?

He was holding out for a 5% clause on junior player sales.

Re: Pep signs new contract
Big rebuilding job for Pep, but he does have the likes of Foden coming through their youth system, plus of course a large transfer budget to play with.
I suspect the reason he's staying at City is there aren't any available vacancies that would suit him right now, he's not going to go to Real for obvious reasons, and the rest of the big guns such as Bayern, Juve & PSG aren't showing any desire in his services, so why not stay at the Etihad, and if he can finally bag the CL he'll be a City legend.

Obviously he has some talent and skills, however it would be nice to see what he is like at building a team or going about his job when he doesnt have unlimited funds or riding alone in a 1 horse race.
Re: Pep signs new contract
He’ll be classed as a failure at Manchester City, no two ways about it, unless they win the Champions League.
Nineteen other managers in the league could’ve won the league/FA Cup/League Cup with the resources he’s had at his disposal.

Re: Pep signs new contract
Yep! and his failure to yet land the CL, well Klopp has delivered that prize to Liverpool, only highlights this even more.
Don't forget when Pep arrived at the Etihad City had already won the PL, and various domestic cups, his mission was to win the CL, and he hasn't really come near it, the furthest City got was the semi-final, and it's not like they're being knocked out by the big guns every season, they've contrived to exit to Monaco, Spurs & Lyon in recent times, and neither of those can be considered amongst the European elite.
Indeed City's overall CL record is poor, they are the only side from the so called big six in England not to have even reached the final, which with their financial might just isn't good enough.
