Huw, there are several identical estimates so far, but the points system does have this covered, as follows:

Unit Count.

1 Winner - 5 pts.
2 Winners - 2.5 each.
3 Winners - 1.5 each.
4 Winners - 1.0 each,
5 or more winners - 0.5 each.

Joose Count.

1 Winner - 3 pts.
2 Winners - 1.5 each.
3 Winners - 1.0 each.
4 or more Winners 0.5 each.

Whilst patiently awaiting more participation in this Hallowed Ritual, I might point out that the actual number of beans apparently is somewhere between 37 and 4000: the amount of residual liquid - in this case, water - anywhere between 0 and 197ml.

This of course leaves plenty of scope for new entrants to take advantage of.

The simple answer to your question, JT, is that no-one knows. The Count was already of quite an age when the old Clarets Mad board featured BFC's first official branch of the BTFCA (British Tinned Food Counting Association), under whose auspices we still operate today.
