Xbox Series X/S

I managed to get hold of one of these and its massively different and better than the Xbox oneX. Anyone else got 1, or any Xbox for that matter? At lockdown times it would be good to get together in a few games when there is nothing to do, I haven't really dabbled in groups for multiplayer and played just on my own against the world, but I'm sure there are laughs to be had as a group. I'm not sure how you add friends on Xbox so i will let you fill me in on that one, but anyone else?

No, but need to source one for Christmas for my lad. Any tips?

Also, is the Series X so much better then the S to justify the extra £200.

Scouse, the way I understand it, the X will give you 4k 60/120 FPD the S will give you 1080.

Reecey, who do we get a UTC community on there all linked up so when your playing something they have we can go as a group. For instance i have been playing COD and come up against lots of groups who are obviously speaking to each other.

You need to add friend and then invite to a party . I think you can have up to 8 in a party or it might be 6 . My gamer tag is Dingle260387

Yeah, managed to pre-order one through Microsoft. I had the One X before and the difference is still pretty staggering, particularly on games where there are a lot of changes in lighting. Been playing through the stuff on Game Pass mostly (Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5) and I've picked up the new Assassin's Creed game too. All look amazing.

If you want to add people:

1. Power on your Xbox One console, then press the Home button on your controller.
2. On the next menu, scroll left once, to reach the "People" tab. Then scroll down and click "Find someone."
3. In the search bar, enter the person's username and a list of suggestions will appear.
4. Click on the profile that you are interested in adding, then click "Add Friend."

I have a xbox series S. I see no reason to spend 200 quid more unless you need the storage for lots of games. I have about 9 games already downloaded and don't need anymore space.

Only problem I have found with mine is a lot of crashing when playing the COD Black Ops but there are always teething problems when they are first released.

I have just bought a second hand Xbox One x, good price at the moment. It's my first ever games console that I have bought for my 10 year old lad. What games would you recommend for him and his 8 year old sister. I've picked up a Lego Harry Potter and a Minecraft. Any suggestions on games would be good, especially ones they can play together. Thanks

https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-game-pass#join there are plenty of games on the xbox ultimate game pass . Its £1 for the first 3 months and then it goes up to 10.99 which you have the option to cancel if you wish

Xbox ultimate pass is the way to go, however if your not already signed up there is a massive loop hole that can save you a fortune. Basically sign up to Xbox live gold for a year usually circa £35 then take up the £1 3 months ultimate pass offer, and it will instantly turn you 12 month Xbox live Gold subscription in to ultimate pass subscription for no extra saving you a fortune.

Would you recommend the Series X then? I can’t decide whether to get the Series X or the PS5. I’ve had both the 360 and the Xbox One so been an Xbox gamer all my adult life, but part of me fancies a change. Would definitely be more inclined to get a Series X if we got a bit of a community going on here.

IF you have always been Xbox then absolutely because all of your purchases on the old xbox models you can play on the new version and possibly upgraded to 4k and 60-120 FPS

Yeah good point! I know getting a Series X is the sensible decision. Just need to wait for stock now

Cheers for posting this, I've just had a series s delivered!

Already have the PS5 so it made the most sense to me to purchase this model, really cannot wait for the new Fable game.

I bought an Xbox One X in March, but that was only due to lockdown, and a good way of keeping in touch with my nephews.

I've always preferred Playstation.

My lad has an Xbox series S...... he says he needs more storage as the hard drive is full...... I gave him a spare USB pen drive but the Xbox says no. Did a bit of research and it appears you have to buy a special Xbox/Seagate collaborated device which is around £200. Is anybody using a cheaper device? His old Xbox made do with a standard USB plug in but these new machines are different.

For those who weren't aware, this is the best way to do this
https://www.electronicfirst.com/12-mont ... rship-brl/
You can only convert it once so it's best to load up a full three years of Xbox Live (the maximum) before converting it.

Correct. However if you have already done this , then there is 1 more route you can go. Buy 3 months subscription to EA pass for £18 and then when you add the code it converts this in to 3 months Xbox Game Pass which is normally £15 per month.

Nearly bought an Xbox series X at Christmas but with having a teenage lad around, wasn't sure when I was going to get on the thing so I bought a gaming laptop instead complete with Xbox Game Pass. Although the laptop cost a lot more than a Xbox series X, I was concerned about availability with the series X flying out of stock everywhere.

Still have the Xbox One & Xbox 360 but I seriously do not think they are a patch on my gaming laptop.

Will probably buy the Xbox series X sometime this year but will probably have to buy 2 so I get to use one of them.
