Is there a worry the current bottom 4 could cut adrift ?

Early days but 5 point gap between Fulham (4th from bottom) and Brighton (5th from bottom). Early form currently thinking where west brom, sheff utd, us and Fulham are going to get those all important wins. Tomorrow is so important we get a least a draw but 3 would be a early massive boost.

I'm sure people surmise on this every season, but I wouldn't take notice of anything until into the new year.

Agree but Newcastle are 6th from bottom with 11 points - we are already 3 wins on the bounce off 6th from bottom, no easy task.

There's a danger, but as dougcollins stats quite correctly, you can't take much notice of the table until after the busy festive schedule.

Also Sheff Utd & West Brom meet each other next week, so there's every chance that one of them will emerge with 3 points.

It has been a good weekend for Brighton though there's no denying that.

I think there's every reason to be worried.

It is early days however our form and the mood at the club are both very worrying.

Why worry about anything you can't influence?

Tis what it is

Whilst I totally agree with this, because worrying has no effect, it's easy to express what is more accurately termed "concern".

A good point at Brighton and as for the mood at the club - well, that's speculation as far as I'm concerned.

It's irrelevant because if we get 36-37 points we will almost certainly survive. That's the target.

Gaps between teams don't matter if you end up with a certain amount of points.

A win tomorrow will calm the nerves, that would be 4 points in 2 games, and after the City game which is a free hit, we've got a run of games that we can pick up points in, not easy games but no games are easy in this league as we should well know by now.

Run of games ,Everton ,Arsenal,Villa,Wolves,Leeds , how many points realistically?

Man City aren't always gonna beat us. One day...who knows... just like we got a point at Liverpool last season and so nearly the win...

How many of those teams are in good form?

Even Everton conceded twice against a woeful Fulham.

Tough to say but all those teams are erratic, and we shouldn't be fearful of them, i wouldn't rule out 7 points from those fixtures, I wouldn't expect anything at Arsenal because we never get anything there, but the other 4 games are ones that on our day we can take something from.

The way things are looking at present, I'd be happy with us being adrift as long as we are pushing the heads of the other three under the water.

Most of us could see this coming, even after the unexpected but excellent results post lockdown.

The alarming thing is how far behind we already are. On top of that the next two sides above the group are Brighton and Newcastle. And we have already lost t he opportunity to gain ground on those two having failed to beat either.

Had we beat Brighton and Newcastle, all three of us would be on 8 points. Which shows the importance of these 6 pointers.

It's Fulham's defence that's shocking, going forward they look a decent side and streets ahead of us in that aspect of the game

I'd quite like to watch us in the football league again, so I won't be worrying either way.
