For any fans of Pink Floyd, if you missed it there was a concert on Sky Arts last night featuring Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets. It featured lots of their early music and I can thoroughly recommend it. It was recorded at the Roundhouse last year.

Yeah, not often that you get to see/hear live their early stuff.

Live at Pompeii.

I would love to see that again - the full version.
It was on BBC4 several years ago.

It was on Sky Arts a couple of weeks ago. Just checked and it's not showing as available on Catch up.

I had tickets to see Australian Pink Floyd at Blackburn this Thursday but it was cancelled a few months ago due to Covid . They've re-scheduled it for next November.

Sky Arts fairly regularly feature Floyd stuff, so it's worth checking each week.

I still listen to Dark Side of the Moon on a regular basis and think it's still the best album I've ever heard.

Not listened to Saucerful in years, though play Wish you Were here & Darkside quite often.
One of the greatest bands ever.
The Wall at Earls Court, 1980 is still the best gig (out of an awful lot) I've ever been to.

We had tickets for the same tour in Harrogate in October which was postponed until
next November. Might consider Blackburn too.

Strange when you are asked who your fav band id they never come to mind, but when you listen to them you wonder why it is so long since you last did.

They are unique

Saucerful of secrets is one of my fav all time tracks, along with Echoes, Careful with that Axe Eugene and anything from Wish you were Here

Have recorded the Saucerful concert

The "Pulse" live concert from Earls Court, 1994, part of The Division Bell tour, is available on YouTube
all 1 hour and 12 minutes of it.

Some excellent stuff on that.

I never liked 'The Wall' but went to Earls Court anyway, because of previous stuff.

'The Wall' fell down half way through the construction of it on stage... And they limped on.

I don't think it was their finest hour.

Think the Wall is a great album and also Animals and Division Bell. My favourite has to be Dark Side though.

I loved Saucerful of Secrets, I very much preferred the band whilst Syd Barrett had some influence.
Many years later I bought The Wall and The Division Bell, can't think why I bought that one.

I saw the us and them tour in Birmingham in 2018. It was good but not as good as the wall tour a few years earlier. Best i went to was the Division bell tour in Lyon ,France in the nineties with Gilmour,Wright and Mason.

Saw them live in February 1971. They came to our college in London, courtesy of a friend of theirs who was on the social committee. Charged £750 and it was £1 to get into the theatre where they played. Speakers around the whole room. £1 then would get 9 pints in the college bar so we made do with about 6 before entering the 'smoky' theatre.

That was a pretty steep fee that they charged! £750 was the equivalent of over £10,000 today!
