Little harsh.

They have only had 6 shots on target and I’m not sure Pope would have done much better against them
Not harsh, true.

Worst game ever for Charlie out of position and at fault for three goals

Conceded 5 and was bailed out by the officials a few times, the disallowed goal in first half he let bounce in off the post, dropped one in second half and was given a dubious free kick and then the one he threw in his own net that was thankfully ruled out.
About as bad as it gets.

A baptism of fire. I hope he uses today’s game as motivation to work hard at his game to get to standard required.

Seems unfair on him but VAR saved his blushes today with the 2 disallowed goals he pushed into his own net.
They will forgotten quickly and I hope the next time he gets a chance he learns from this experience and doesn’t freeze again

I don't think NP or TH ever fumbled 2 balls into the back of their own net.

He was like watching an under 10's today.

Luckily we had VAR to rule them out.

2nd choice goalkeeper has got to be the worse position in just about any club, no competitive football to keep the sharpness.
I'm sure he'll come back all the better for this experience.

Premier League debut in a team on a poor run against one of the best teams in the world who traditionally tonk us. Give the lad a break.

O'Rourke.

I don't think BPF could have done anything with the goals tbh, but yes he was fortunate with his mistake being ruled offside.

BPF wasn't at the club then so I'm not sure what point you are making?

But why are we comparing him with BPF? I think the biggest issue people have is that we experienced Pope coming in and being oustanding and now we have expected BPF to do the same. Away at City it was a massive ask. Pope and Heaton have shipped similar at City. I don't think we have a Pope level keeper as back up in BPF..in my mind he is quite average but he certainly needs more time to be judged than away at our annual tonking ground.

On a hiding to nothing today, give the lad a break eh

I'm from a cricketing background and it's like giving a lad a debut against Bret Lee and Mitchel Johnson on a quick pitch in Australia then saying he's sh1t when he fails.. I personally think Taylor needs a rest and Pieters in at LB as Charlie has been nowhere near his best this season..

I've been regularly calling this guy out since he signed, after having Heaton & Pope for quite a number of years,we look very weak in the keeper department ...I simply can't see the reasoning behind letting Hennessey go...its a very strange decision
Peacock Farrell should get nowhere near a squad member place this season .....let's hope Muric is half decent..we live in hope.

Hennessey will have been on a bigger wage than BPF. Plus he wanted to go (if as likely he has a relegation clause he could have been doubling his championship wage going to Forest).
And as far as I know nobody wants BPF…..whereas Forest wanted Hennessey.

I think VK must have had a good idea that he was going to get at least one of the keepers he was targeting and was comfortable letting Hennessey go (as far as we know the deal for Muric could have been a lot further down the process than any fans or journalists knew)

Do we know for sure Hennessey wanted to go,I think he will be warming the bench at Forest behind Henderson,so another season in the Premier league warming the bench, probably his decision to leave was down to greed to many footballers seem to put money before playing these days,I know what I'd sooner do.

From what I can see WK has been ‘happy’ to warm the bench for a few years now so he may aswell warm the bench and get paid twice as much money in the premier league as he would do at Burnley.
Not really sure how many footballers in this day and age would have made a different decision to WK. It’s not like he had any loyalty or affiliation to us….but even if he did at his age and stage in his career he’s not going to turn down a chance like this.

There’s a number of no 2 keepers who seem to be happy playing no 2 or even no 3 if it means they can secure a better deal - Forster, WK, Buckland, Adrian, Begovic etc.

Wasn't it 17 clean sheets in 47 games?
For some reason there is a weird agenda on here against Peacock-Farrell, so many wanting him to fail.
Anyone might think he's the only crap player we've ever signed.

Nobody wants him to fail. It's just on everyone's minds that when he got his chance in our team, he did fail absolutely miserably and was swiftly dropped for Will Norris who is also crap.

First, some really do want him to fail, and so far he has obliged.
Second, are you absolutely sure he was dropped rather than consider that Norris's selection was pre-planned to give him a PL game or two?

No Burnley fan wants any Burnley player to fail. Common sense that.

We always almost had a crap third (or fourth) choice goalie under Dyche and he never pre-planned a selection to give them a game or two. I can't read minds but there was a very clear correlation between Peacock-Farrell putting in rubbish performances and finding himself on the bench.
