Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
Does it work like Sky if your telling them your leaving they give you a better deal?
Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
Ahh okay. Not sure how they work then. I simply selected that I wanted to leave on my online account. Few days later they rang asking why etc. Then offered me a great deal. Maybe you’ve got the same option online?

Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
You'd be better getting the S10 (or S10+) for much cheaper. I'm always one behind the latest upgrade. Great phones, Samsungs.
Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+

Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
Yes,you'll be charging it up more often...poor battery endurance rating.

I have the S8 which has slightly better endurance but I'm looking at getting the Motorola G8 power which has a much better endurance rating.
A mate of mine has one and he rarely has it on charge.

Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
If you dont want to spend too much move to the 10 or the 10e
If you want q decent spec but save costs move to the A range
S20 and FE comes with a premium price but the others are just as good

Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
I use my S20 a lot as it doubles up as a work phone as well as personal due to the dual sim slots. I usually have about 25% or more left when I go to bed, and then put it on charge. In terms of usage, I was on site in Liverpool on Tuesday, I used google maps, had the music on in the car with it, took around 300 photographs on site, then the usual calls and emails, mobile hotspot for laptop etc. It still had 20% when I plugged it in at bedtime.Dazzler wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 3:10 pmYes,you'll be charging it up more often...poor battery endurance rating.

Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
Doesn't give an endurance rating for the 5g but I can't see it being all that great with a 4000mAh battery

Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
I can only go from actual real world experience, and it's miles better than both the S8 and S10 I've had previously.Dazzler wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 6:59 pmDoesn't give an endurance rating for the 5g but I can't see it being all that great with a 4000mAh battery

How long is the contract for? Basically it is not a free handset, you are paying for it in the contract.....Walkerpool wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 3:01 pmGet the s20 plus from mobilephonesdirect free handset 260gb unlimited text and calls £41 on 02 I've just ordered mine

Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
i had the S8 but just bought the Samsung Galaxy A71 sim free from the 3 mobile shop in Burnley.
I actually prefer it to the S 8 .Larger screen, great camera and was less than 400 quid .Think the S20 to buy was mega money in comparison.

Pound for pound spec wise I don't think you can beat the oppo A5 just price dropped to £99:99, I'm thinking of getting 1 just as a backup to my moto edge +.

That's a pretty sweeping statement buddy are you really sure a company the size of Sony cant develop a decent handset?Wellsy1882 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 10:29 amIts either apple or samsung

Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
Sony have always had a hardcore cult following & the monolithic designs appeal to some, some wouldn't have anything else but a sony, I used to love ripping the old K series apart the cybershot phones & putting them back together, the newer xperia models are more robust.

I've still got the Galaxy S7, released in 2016.
Absolutely amazed I've not yet lost it.

Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
I'd consider going with a newer model than you currently have, but not the latest one. You get an upgrade, but you're not paying a premium.

Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
I got a note 9 as the screen was bigger for football! Battery lasted much better than S8.
The new 20 is better for pictures but do you need all your memory gone on a handful of pics?

Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
Dual sims is one of the best innovations in phones for many a year. Early 2000s (2005 ?) I was at a telecomms conference (because there was cross-over with gas/power sector) and told the telecomms guys that I wanted a dual sim phone - made my point holding up my work phone in one hand and my personal phone in the other. They all said it couldn't and wouldn't be done. What they meant was they didn't know there'd be money to be made with dual sims.
Re: Upgrade on my Samsung S 8+
Absolutely, not having to mess around with 2 phones, 2 chargers etc is brilliant.Paul Waine wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 8:26 pmDual sims is one of the best innovations in phones for many a year. I had a basic dual sim phone when I lived in Thailand....best thnig ever...one sim for in-country calls and then a second sim that was one of those international calling sims for cheap calls to the uk to friends and familyPaul Waine wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 8:26 pmDual sims is one of the best innovations in phones for many a year.
