Re: Wigan v Saints
O’Loughlin and Graham deserve a good send-off, both RL stalwarts whose best days are behind them but have given long service to the game and their clubs. I expect Wigan to win since Saints have a habit of bottling the big occasion.

It's very strange, it seems when Wigan rugby is on the up Wigan football is in decline and vice versa

Re: Wigan v Saints
Wigan will always be a rugby town, even when they were in the PL they never attracted huge crowds , and now they've returned to their natural place in the lower leagues the egg-chasers will go back to their usual sport.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 9:36 pmIt's very strange, it seems when Wigan rugby is on the up Wigan football is in decline and vice versa

Re: Wigan v Saints
Saints to win if they can stay focussed on their game in-spite of the physicality that Wigan will bring. Also need Chris Kendall (ref) to be strong in applying the rules.

Kendall referee and Thaler video ref. Comedy duo, the last game they did together McIlorum got a 6 week ban and J Tomkins 8 weeks, but on the pitch not even a penalty. Why on earth these 2 have got the game I have no idea, but they should be sat at home watching it, not officiating.

Re: Wigan v Saints
The Saints will really have to be on their game to wrestle this away from Wigan.
It's going to be a fascinating encounter, that's for sure.
Cherry and whites, it's in our blood ..........etc etc

There is an emotional programme before it starts and continues after it finishes about Rob Burrows career and his struggle with Motor Neuron disease.

Re: Wigan v Saints
Really looking forward to it tonight. Will be a very tight game.
Wigan had a decent season, Saints weren't far behind.
Reckon less than 4 points in the game.
Fingers crossed Saints win and Graham goes out on a high.

Not a Rugby fan both codes to be fair as I largely don't understand the nuances or want to.
But that aside I watched the last 30 minutes and wow that was epic.

Stunning finish to an outstanding final. Congrats Saints from a Cherry Pie-eater.
SD would have been proud of those two defences.

I was kicking myself I hadn’t put money on as 22/1 seemed long.

Re: Wigan v Saints
Great game to watch but Smithies should not have given away that penalty just before half time because that was a real tonic for Saints going in at the break. Fine margins in the end but well doen to the Saints because they never ever stop playing!

Fantastically absorbing (and brutal) game ...and an absolutely classic sporting moment to win it in the last second of the game.

Re: Wigan v Saints
Incredible game. And deserved to be watched and appreciated by a much bigger audience.
Intensity, passion and blood and sweat. No player took a backward step.
Two great careers ended tonight. Neither deserved to loose.
Classy guard of honour from Saints for Lockers at the end.
