2k attendance?
Have the club announced how the 2k will be decided? As I won’t be involved I can’t wait for the meltdown on here when some don’t get in.

There’s bound to be a meltdown, but the club might be surprised how many people don’t wish to attend under these circumstances.

If and when we are allowed back in if it is limited to 2k at the start and someone starts whinging they haven't got the game they want to attend, hopefully they take their selfish attitude and **** off elsewhere.

Re: 2k attendance?
Has anyone taken the survey attached to the club's recent email ?
There is the perfect opportunity within that survey to let the club know
your thoughts and feelings about this very subject.
Well done to the club for that initiative.
As an aside, does anyone else think that the PR and communication from
the club has improved quite significantly in the last few weeks ? A sign that
perhaps the potential new owners have a few bodies already in place ?
Just a thought.

I’ll not bother when it’s 2k, unless it’s sunny
Funnily enough it’s the bottom half of the table I’d rather get tickets for, I’m not arsed about the big clubs, I’ll watch those at home

I'm fully in agreement with this. I still have my season ticket even though I live in Bournemouth. I would much rather make a 600 mile round trip to see a game against the likes of Sheffield United or West Brom than one of the 'big 6'.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 10:11 amFunnily enough it’s the bottom half of the table I’d rather get tickets for, I’m not arsed about the big clubs, I’ll watch those at home

Yep I replied. And stated that I am happy to attend one, some or all games. And also happy that if someone else gets a ticket and I dont so be it. As long as we are doing whats safe and sensible to get us all back.Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 9:53 amHas anyone taken the survey attached to the club's recent email ?

Re: 2k attendance?
There is absolutely no way on earth that i would want to attend a stadium with the current restrictions in place. It is very much a social event for me that means going to the pub, joining a group of mates, sitting with said mates, getting a HT pint, chanting and creating an atmosphere. All of this can't be done in the current climate so it's either go when it's back to normal or not at all for me. I have even been put off going to the pub because of the restrictions you're put under. I have been once, not for me and i love the pub scene.

To be honest who really wants to sit yards from the next fan in a soulless crowd lost in the expanse of a football stadium it’s not any improvement on watching behind closed doors games on tv I will wait until it gets back to a bit more normal.

Re: 2k attendance?
Same on the pub front, I went to our local club a few times and you had to stay seated at all times, zero atmosphere, which I understand but it was like being back at school. Not for me, I'm not that desperate for pint in a pub, I'll waitgandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 1:07 pmThere is absolutely no way on earth that i would want to attend a stadium with the current restrictions in place. Stood many a time on the side of a pitch with half a dozen people watching amateur football. So not a problem sitting down watching professional footballers with hardly any fans.
Of course I’d prefer a full ground and be there with all my friends and family like we have done for years. But still rather watch live than sitting in front of the TV.

Most folk are alright & can be trusted, too many sex predators & perverts prowling, children need to be safe & the parents need to be reassured that there children are safe, turf moor would easily be targeted by paedophiles ect, the club couldn't ensure safety it'd be a nightmare.

Re: 2k attendance?
A long held thought on attendees of 'The Orient Game':
I went to about 12 -15 Burnley matches each season during the mid/late 80s, including I think the 86/87 away game with Orient - was that the bitterly cold day? - but not to the 1987 Orient home match; it struck me as being just too much effort, as I wouldn't be able to simply arrive and find somewhere to park nearby for free 15-20 minutes before kick off, pay on the gate and wander in at 2:55 and still get a good viewing spot. Instead I went climbing in Wales, though we were off the mountain and back into a pub at Llanberis in time to watch the vidi-printer and match reports on TV; it was watching those when the thought first hit me: If just half of those 'Burnley Fans' who'd attended "The Orient Game" (or indeed a 1/4 of those who've subsequently claimed to have been there) had been supporting the Clarets for 12-15 games each season, then the club wouldn't have been skint and "The Orient Game' might never have happened. or if it had, it would've been remembered as either a bland season ending 'played Orient game' or 'The Orient Game' because we'd clinched promotion or become D4 Champions at the end of it .

I used to be more scared going to matches in the early 80’s when crowds of 2k were the norm, running up and down terraces to get away from a few Neanderthals from Millwall, Cardiff etc!!!!!
Still went tho...........
As for 2k now, it’ll just be good to be making steps back to the new normal........

Just a thought
If there is 2K on the ground on a Saturday game
But
The pubs are open and the game is showing
Then won’t more people be in close proximity in a closed in environment than if they were on the ground in an attendance that if there was no away fans is likely to be 15k in a 22k stadium
Won’t they be drinking more alcohol and getting less aware of social distancing than they would in the ground

Who would also be outdoors as opposed to being indoors, having 2k or 4k in the home team stadium is an advantage, which clearly is not fair, there shouldn't be anybody in any stadium until we're all in, but in our case I fully agree with the point your making.BleedingClaret wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 10:14 amJust a thought

Re: 2k attendance?
Why are they suggesting a raffle?
If it is a different 2k each time, with those attending match 1 excluded until all season ticket holders have attended a match, then fine. If it is an 'all in' raffle' each time, then it will have a smell. We will all think that some 'tickets' are more likely to come up, every time and others, hardly a sniff.

No but the paodphiles will be if you start to encourage minors unsupervised en masse, funnily enough you don’t really see them congregating around bingo halls & OAP social centres. I certainly wouldn’t trust my grandchildren to be attending without appropriate responsible adult supervision.
