FA Cup Draw Thread
I know it's a bit early but I've just posted the draw numbers in an announcement thread at the top. We are number 10.

I just hope for the fans that normally attend, we don't get a ground that we haven't visited for a long time or ever, that would be rough on them.

Re: FA Cup Draw Thread
I was thinking that, and if it is a home tie it will be the first I've missed on the Turf since I started watching Burnley in 1960.

Re: FA Cup Draw Thread
I think there are 16 grounds that Burnley have never played on in the possible draw. All depends on 2nd round results, of course.
Stevenage
Harrogate
Brackley
Wimbledon (new built ground)
King's Lynn
Chorley
Solihull Moors (less than a mile from where I live)
Oxford City
Dagenham & Redbridge
Salford
Havant & Waterlooville
Marine
Canvey Island
Boreham Wood
Barnet (new ground)?
Darlington
Stevenage
Harrogate
Brackley
Wimbledon (new built ground)
King's Lynn
Chorley
Solihull Moors (less than a mile from where I live)
Oxford City
Dagenham & Redbridge
Salford
Havant & Waterlooville
Marine
Canvey Island
Boreham Wood
Barnet (new ground)?
Darlington

Re: FA Cup Draw Thread
I’ve seen us play at Chorley. That’s where Danny Ings made his debut. Was against Preston in the Central League. We’ve also played a pre-season game at Harrogate but it clashed with another game and I missed it.bfcmik wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 3:41 pmI think there are 16 grounds that Burnley have never played on in the possible draw. I’m not aware of us having played at any of the others on that list though.

Re: FA Cup Draw Thread
So we haven't played any of them in a competitive 1st team fixture. Living in Solihull I rarely go to reserve/u23/u18/pre-season fixtures unless they are nearby. I have attended u18, u23 and pre season games here in the West MidlandsClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 6:38 pmI’ve seen us play at Chorley. That’s where Danny Ings made his debut. And a dreadful piece of refereeing robbed us of a a stonewall penalty as Rocket Ron was hauled back in the box, but still got his shot away which was saved. Advantage my a**!!! Still makes me angry even now!ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 2:21 pmWe've only played Man City twice in my life time in the 3rd round, once at home and once away. We did lose both though, Colin Hendry scored the goal on the Turf back in 1990/91.
Re: FA Cup Draw Thread
Aren’t Harrogate playing at Doncaster’s ground? So, that one doesn’t really count.

Brackley doing well at Tranmere 0-0 at HT, and it's a deserved 0-0 they are more than holding their own.

Brackley is 5 miles from me. I was hoping Banbury were going to get through as well as they are 1 mile away. They were unlucky to lose to Canvey in the first round

Tranmere 1-0
Brackley have a Harry Flowers on their bench
Is it the same one we signed in the youths recently?

1-0 to Tranmere and they did look very capable so I hope we don't draw them on Monday with out FA Cup attitude.
Re: FA Cup Draw Thread
We played Canvey Island at home in the FA Cup a few years back.

Well! he got on the pitch for about 5 seconds
Decent game that and Tranmere could be difficult opponents for many sides, I somehow sense the FA Cup isn't going to be high on our priority list this season, and given our precarious league position nor should it be I'm afraid.
Re: FA Cup Draw Thread
I'm in the group who thinks we should take the cups more seriously but I couldn't care less this season.
Re: FA Cup Draw Thread
We better not get a team with a new ground tick, I've been waiting years for a new ground tick, it would be a sickener if we got an away draw at one when we couldnt go.

Re: FA Cup Draw Thread
Burnley did play Chorley in the Lancs Senior Cup on the Turf in the late 60's and I think we lost but can't for the life of me remember the score even though I was there. It was a reserve side Burnley put out but only Lammie Robertson hadn't played a first team game. I went to school in Chorley at the time and took more than a bit of stick...

Hopefully a winnable home tie.
For compensation I have put a few quid on us drawing Man City at 60/1

I've just updated the thread at the top to remove all the teams beaten yesterday - just the one second round game remaining which will be played after tonight's draw

Re: FA Cup Draw Thread
Non-league teams in the draw are, Chorley, Marine, Stevenage, Stockport, and as CT states Canvey Island or Boreham Wood, I think that's them all, and they'll all be hoping to land a big fish, and the money generated could be vital to their survival.

Re: FA Cup Draw Thread
There were three all non-league ties in the 2nd round, one still to be played with Marine and Stockport through. Chorley have also gone through so there will be four in the third round.

You may have missed it tiger but Stevenage stayed up due to Macclesfield's problems!!!
I'm hoping Burnley get drawn away to Stevenage as I'll be able to be there!!

Two evenly matched teams, should be a good game and if we get a bit of luck I reckon we could get through to the 4th round
