Re: Benson
Looks neat and tidy but not particularly dynamic today.
If Brownhill is fit, he has to play ahead of him.

Not a chance he will get a run in the team. He did well today though.

Re: Benson
A bit hard for any midfielder for Burnley to show dynamism in a game like today. He did his job as well as anyone could reasonably expect, was tidy, confident and he impressed me in the Carabao games too.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 4:58 pmLooks neat and tidy but not particularly dynamic today.

I’d infinitely rather he was playing than Dale Stephens, personally.

Re: Benson
Don’t disagree with that although we’ve not had chance to have a proper look at Stephens just yet.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 5:03 pmA bit hard for any midfielder for Burnley to show dynamism in a game like today. Re: Benson
In games like today, when we need to fill the centre of the park, I think Benson could give us the option to use a central 3 when Brownhill is back . We can’t go into games against the top 4/6 now with two up top, we need to nick a point here or there!
He’s got something about him and we need everyone we have up until January where hopefully we get reinforcements !

Re: Benson
Certainly gave a good enough showing to be given an opportunity here and there.
Re: Benson
I like the look of Benson and think he may deserve a chance
to play more regularly.
Especially if Dyche decides to change from the usual 4-4-2 formation
which invariably leaves us getting overrun and short in midfield.
He may well have to go 4-3-3 whether he likes it or not.
It might also help McNeil and give him a more free role
and concentrate on getting forward.

Re: Benson
Be good to see this young lad be given some more opportunities tbf . It seems he has something about him and could give us a slightly different angle attack wise.

I didn't watch the game as thankfully I don't have shitty BT Sport, but those I've chatted to say he was our best player.

Re: Benson
Give the lad a chance. Not playing Man City every week. We need to be giving younger players like this a chance to progress or what is the point of them being here. Remember the likes of Kindon and Dave Thomas.

Re: Benson
Boysie must be pi**ed because Benson played very well and definitely didn't look out of his depth. As mentioned above, something positive out of the shambles.

We certainly need a positive from the game, and it might just be a long term positive.

Re: Benson
I’m not comparing him to Foden , Frank, but once or twice he showed the same type of composure on the ball and we now know he is dangerous from free kicks around the box.
Re: Benson
Benson was the only bit major positive for me today. he was fast, read the game well, and kept on wanting the ball in good positions, and to get that free kick up and down over that wall in that amount of space... He really needs a chance, but with Brownhill, Westy, and Corky its only going to be if 1 gets injured in Dych's eyes I would presume. Shame because he has that look of him like Dwight did when he broke through.

Re: Benson
It would still be a massive boost in the knowledge that we don't desperately need a central midfielder, with Cork, Westwood, Brownhill, Benson and Stephens. Maybe Benson has now hopped ahead of Stephens, with Stephens now 5th choice.ClaretAL wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 6:52 pmBenson was the only bit major positive for me today. he was fast, read the game well, and kept on wanting the ball in good positions, and to get that free kick up and down over that wall in that amount of space... If he wasn't quite such an obvious troll you'd think he was a right miserable cnut who was possibly also a bit slow.

Every time iv seen Benson play he’s looked a good player. Seems to have that confidence about him which all top players have.
In an ideal world he would be getting some game time in our match squad. Half an hour here and there, starting the odd game etc.
Same with Jimmy Dunne I feel he’s good enough to start playing a part for our match squad.
