At least our annual 5-0 drubbing came early this year, now hopefully we can crack on with the rest of the season, and put today behind us.

Man City have spent multi millions, we’ve spent 3 quid, and apparently absolutely sh1te.
Yet they could still only score 5.

2. As the fifth goal went in I was thinking "how does so much fluff get into my navel ?"
Amazingly, Mike Garlick was having the same thoughts at the same time

1. You cant go to Man City with a squad of 14 fit senior pros with 2 that cant really be classed as premier league players and expect anything but a thumping.
2. If you did expect a result, you're deluded.

Re: 2 things from today
You mean the worlds worst chairman who has only spent on average around 50m per season over the last 5 or 6 seasons?
He has truely neglected the team, he must just be a businessman who's main aim is to make money out of the club
Least we have a true supporter in charge here, who wouldn't do anything like that.

1. One season City away will be the final game of the season and that will be even worse.
2. Pundits can purr all they want about how amazing City are, but at least 4 of those goals were absolute gifts and would have been exactly the same to any PL team.

Also the orient game is so 2017, we have moved on to "the next Bolton or Bury" now.

I was thinking a spell in the Championship is looking likely, then I thought at least our hardcore 15,000 support will actually beable to watch us win a few games and the team will actually do what they are meant to do and provide us with entertainment ,because it really is starting to wear a bit thin getting tubbed & humiliated every other week.

Leisure did you enjoy yesterday...I'd like to see us go on an 18 game unbeaten run, having a striker score 20+ goals and have a bit of enjoyment at a game watching us is becoming a chore, look how Leeds played yesterday and then compare it to us,what we are serving up is not entertainment its torture...I love my club but come on enough is enough.

Emojis
A study by Google has revealed that out of the two thousand adults aged 16 to 65, who were asked their views, 94% reckoned people who use emojis in their messages lacked confidence, had no friends and suffered with depression.

Steve - No, I certainly didn't enjoy it! But what exactly does 'enough is enough' mean? I've certainly seen us play far worse than that against far worse teams than City. We make mistakes most games but most teams aren't as ruthless as City so the mistakes aren't as costly. I'm a 'glass half full' person and always try to take some positives from a game, even from such a poor performance, so 1) Benson didn't look out of place on his debut, 2) Dwight at least managed to make a couple of forward runs and got a decent cross in, and 3) we don't have to play City away again this season. The team needs freshening up it's gone stale,we need some fresh faces ...not ones like Stephen's....proper signings our club is in a fight this season to stay in this league...I dont want us to but we are going to get relegated if we go with this squad after the January transfer window, I started a thread about how well Benson did sadly when the tired old faces are fit,he will be discarded,I dont know what goes on behind the scenes but the club isn't right at the mo,maybe time for new owners & a new manager eh?Leisure wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 2:09 pmSteve - No, I certainly didn't enjoy it! Agree that we need new faces but even if there is money available in January, if we are still in the bottom 4 by thenSteve1956 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 2:19 pmThe team needs freshening up it's gone stale,we need some fresh faces ...not ones like Stephen's....proper signings our club is in a fight this season to stay in this league...I dont want us to but we are going to get relegated if we go with this squad after the January transfer window, I started a thread about how well Benson did sadly when the tired old faces are fit,he will be discarded,I dont know what goes on behind the scenes but the club isn't right at the mo,maybe time for new owners & a new manager eh?
I can't see there being a queue of better players than what we have, waiting to join us (but I truly hope that I'm wrong!). Maybe the promising debut from Benson will encourage the manager to be a little more adventurous with his selections. UTC

Re: 2 things from today
A total lack of commitment.
I liken it to not playing your shots at cricket. It just allows the opposition to put 8 men around the ball. They can bowl anything they like, because they know you aren't going to do anything.
When we get the ball, players are so frightened of being caught out of position on the counter, that they lack the commitment to attack and get bodies forward. We might not get caught out of position, but we face constant wave of attack after attack because of it. Sooner or later they are bound to score.
All the teams that are successful against City show that commitment, no matter their league standing. They play with a courage we, or SD lacks.
Don't get me wrong, we could have shown commitment and lost 5-0 anyway, or worse, but at least we would have given ourselves a chance. Yesterday we gave ourselves nothing to take from the game.
