Emmerdale
Re: Emmerdale
Not watched it in years, in fact since probably 2005ish. Lost interest after meeting all the women from the show when they were on a night out in Leeds. Me and a colleague joined them for most of the night and had a really good time. I suppose it was hard to watch with the wife after that
Re: Emmerdale
Got you Zlatan, you are lucky Cain Dingle didn't get wind of your night out with the girls.
Would like to add Emmerdale not fit to lace Corries boots !

Re: Emmerdale
Chatted to a couple from Corrie in Leeds, but don't recollect seeing any of the Emmerdale crowd, although I don't watch it so only recognise some of them.Zlatan wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 7:40 pmNot watched it in years, in fact since probably 2005ish. I briefly chatted to 'Rosie Webster' and Craig in Bar One.
Talking of Corrie - that has seriously gone downhill.

Indeed CT
I spent most of the evening chatting to Leah Bracknell (RIP). I think it was her leaving party with all the other ladies on the show. We just enjoyed their company and they enjoyed ours for the evening, that’s all

Re: Emmerdale
Do you live in these parts, Zlatan?
Re: Emmerdale
Lived in Burnley for 15 years (left in 2010), worked in Leeds for about 3 years at one point. Back in 2005 I was taking all sorts of Microsoft training courses in Leeds over a period of about 6 months, so we had some really good nights out on expenses - can’t for the life of me remember any names of the places we went in though. Did a few in 2007 too, and I was in the cinema when the 7/7 bombing happened and I loosely remember armed police around the city centre when we left there, as one of the suspects was from Leeds.
I will say that we always had a good night out in Leeds, and we’d always stay in the Novotel, as it was central enough for us

Leeds is certainly a good night. We've even been out on Mondays the odd time and it was still lively.

Re: Emmerdale
The original Woolpack is in Arncliffe, near Kettlewell - The Falcon. The real landlord was famous for his inhospitality towards visitors. There was a sign outside saying 'Leave the Pennine way out here' (take your boots off), and he used to close on the day of the village festival.

Re: Emmerdale
The ale was fantastic. No cellar, the barrels were on a trestle behind the bar, and beer was poured into a pewter jug before going into your (chilled) pint glass.
My missus once asked if he had lager, he leaned over the bar and said 'What do you think?'

Re: Emmerdale
I lived in Esholt for a couple of years. It’s where they filmed Emmerdale. The Woolpack was there. One evening, enjoying a pint, the pub windows were flooded with light. We looked out to see a coach load of Japanese tourists at 9pm, all taking photos.
I got married in the small church there and that was frequently used during filming.

I didn't, but thanks for that. I'm surely it will remain at the back of the brain when it ever comes up in a quiz ha. I thought it might have been down to Beckindale.LoveCurryPies wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 10:01 pmNo.

Re: Emmerdale
Didn’t know that. Thought it was originally filmed at Esholt. Though, I’m not exactly an Emmerdale aficionado.dougcollins wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 9:36 pmThe original Woolpack is in Arncliffe, near Kettlewell - The Falcon. Re: Emmerdale
Admittedly bobinho, for such a small village there's been plenty of nice girls living there.
