Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
Westy says on his feet I think he can clear that out of play, fan of his but his decision cost that goal.
Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
Weak from Westwood. Dreadful time to concede. Gives them a huge lift after being so poor.
Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
I need to see it again... but foul or not - we SHOULD still be 1 up - that is my opinion thats all

If he would have stayed on his feet instead of falling over we would be going in one up!

Awful performance from a limp referee, as usual.
He might as well have a blue shirt on.

Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
All started from a poor kick from Pope. Westwood going to ground too easy. Richarlison has been getting far too much of the ball.
Why does that have to happen the one game we get a referee who isn't blowing for everything? Ref ignored every challenge in that half more or less.

Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
Individual mistakes at both ends been a huge factor this season. Have to make chances count.
Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
Gomez took Brownhill out. Clear red. Moved his elbow into His face. Lucky not to be badly injured. Westwood tried to buy a foul and cost us a goal

Playing a lot better than usual though , hoping for the same again second half, they’ve done nothing apart from score from that error.
Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
Watch his arm movement. Clear red. Elbow to head not head to elbow

The Brownhill/Gomez incident was a clear accident.
Checked by VAR as well.

Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
It does but with around a minute of the half left why compound that by keeping the ball in play and giving the ball back to the opposition?

The ref isn't giving any soft free kicks. We need to adapt to that.

Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
A bit of a spewer that because we played well for large parts.
However Lowton is a bloody liability. 4 times 1st half he wasn't within 20 yards of his man or in his zone. We got away with the 1st 3 of them, we weren't so lucky with the 4th (and yes Westy needs to stop looking for a cheap free kick because it isn't the 1st time this season we've conceded because of it)

Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
I didn't think it was a foul and Westwood has won the ball and then overruns it slightly and falls over looking for it. Taylor isn't the worst ref in the world and he's not given much this half for simply falling down and I can't complain he didn't give that one either. It's still an absolute sickener though, conceding in added time.

I dont think it was, it was a coward sh!tting out of a tackle. I'd be getting properly stuck into Gomez 2nd half

Poor goal to concede, but I think we played pretty well. Lots of positives there. Pickford made a very good save from Wood. Hope we come on on a positive note and take it to them.

This. Very unusual to see ref not blowing for everything but Westwood should know better.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 1:27 pmThe ref isn't giving any soft free kicks. We need to adapt to that.
Hate to see cheating from any player so it serves him right.
Nothing wrong with the Gomes challenge.

Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
Huge miss by Wood changed the game. Had to take it round Pickford for tap in. Any shot was always going to hit Pickford

Ref gives a soft FK on so called foul on Pickford
Re: Burnley v Everton - Match Day Thread
indeed - if that was a foul, the Westwood incident in the first half that led to their goal was an assaultSussexDon1inIreland wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 1:45 pmRef gives a soft FK on so called foul on Pickford

They’ll win this if we don’t stop coughing up the ball in midfield. Happening far too often.
