West Brom v Palace
West Brom v Palace
Palace 1-0
Has there been a team that relies so heavily on one player?
When Zaha plays they have a good chance of winning but when he's out they lose the majority of games.

Albion player off, looked ridiculously soft
Re: West Brom v Palace
Pereira off for violent conduct. I think Don Goodman called it right - not enough force or intent to justify a red; it was petulant. Still, probably good news for us.

Another VAR nonsense decision, extremely harsh red card. I really am getting totally sick of VAR.

Palace will be in the relegation mix, so a draw would not be a bad result

We want a Palace win, surely. I don't want WBA picking up any points at all.Top Claret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 12:49 pmPalace will be in the relegation mix, so a draw would not be a bad result

Re: West Brom v Palace
I thought the red was harsh but as soon as Tierney went to the screen there was no way he was going to disagree with his mate at Stockley Park.

Let's be honest lads as soft as it was, if that was against us we would be fuming if it wasn't a red

When I said it was good for us, I meant 2-1. You can stop scoring now.

Re: West Brom v Palace
If we can carry on playing as we have been doing over the last four games ( I'm disregarding City, we always get stuffed there), I see no reason why we can't, at the very least, finish above WBA, Fulham and Sheff U.

Agreed. Especially with some new additions in January.lakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 1:48 pmIf we can carry on playing as we have been doing over the last four games ( I'm disregarding City, we always get stuffed there), I see no reason why we can't, at the very least, finish above WBA, Fulham and Sheff U.

Definitely. What was it, 1 point after 6 games? We're improving.lakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 1:48 pmIf we can carry on playing as we have been doing over the last four games ( I'm disregarding City, we always get stuffed there), I see no reason why we can't, at the very least, finish above WBA, Fulham and Sheff U.

On paper, we don't have a tough run over the next 5-6 games. But... it's one game at a time. It has to be.Vino blanco wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 1:54 pmGood result for us. Let's hope we can pick up some points in our next few tough fixtures.

Arsenal, Villa, Leeds away and Wolves at home isn't exactly easy though. As I said, I just hope we can pick some points up from them.

Re: West Brom v Palace
WBA are dogger, we really missed a good opportunity against them, the Fulham and Sheff Utd games are massive, 8 points from the next 6 games as long as 6 come against them wouod be a great return and take us into January on target and hopefully a few additions should give us a real chance of survival.

I hesitate to call any team crap/dogger when we're second from bottom.MACCA wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 2:46 pmWBA are dogger, we really missed a good opportunity against them, the Fulham and Sheff Utd games are massive, 8 points from the next 6 games as long as 6 come against them wouod be a great return and take us into January on target and hopefully a few additions should give us a real chance of survival.

I'm not saying we aren't a poor side, or at very least been playing poorly, however IMO WBA are the poorest side in the division.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 2:47 pmI hesitate to call any team crap/dogger when we're second from bottom.
Any team that finishes below them will be relegated.

Re: West Brom v Palace
I'd put us around what we are in the form table - 15th. But in our first 6 games we were the worst side in the league, by a mile. We're improving now we have our defence back.

Re: West Brom v Palace
Not a bad weekend for us thus far, we picked up a good point, and both Fulham & more importantly West Brom have gone pointless, and that was a game I'd have expected WB to pick something up in, now we just need Leicester to do the business in Yorkshire.
Re: West Brom v Palace
We're improving, yes. But then you could say the same about
Fulham and West Brom not that far behind.
Fulham have 6 points from their last 6 games, we've got 5 and West Brom 4.
Not much in it really but the next 6 games could decide
which of the three seem capable of rising above their current predicaments.

Re: West Brom v Palace
The head to head meetings amongst the bottom 5 will be crucial, whoever emerges with a good haul of points from those fixtures will be well placed to potentially pull themselves clear of the pack, of course it's possible nobody pulls clear and it goes right to the wire.jurek wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 3:33 pmWe're improving, yes. I'm viewing our double header against Sheff Utd and Fulham over the Xmas/NY period as a great chance to put back-to-back wins together, and if we could collect 6 points from those games, it could be the kickstart we need similar to a couple of seasons ago, when we racked up wins over WH, Huddersfield and Fulham, it's amazing how quickly a good festive spell can change a season.
