Such a sad end to her life with the dementia. At least she’s now at peace.

Babs was of course best known for the Carry On's, and in her latter years the indomitable Peggy Mitchell, but it's worth mentioning she did a lot more than just those famous roles, not least several British movies in the early 1960's, of those Sparrows Can't Sing is most likely the best known.

She may have been small in stature, but she had a huge personality and screen presence, and these characters will live long in the memory.

They were funny.

Almost all the regulars are dead now. Peter Butterworth, Kenneth Connor et al.

Jim Dale is still alive, I think.
