Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
I think people are over complicating it.
Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
James - Why's that? If by not electing to go into the ballot for the 1st game would mean that I'm then excluded for subsequent games I want to know.

I’m pretty sure each match will be treat independently from that respect.
Wasn’t necessarily aimed at you. But read through the thread. People making out that unless you are bill gates you’ll have no way of even printing the ticket.

Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
I'm assuming it will work like this (and I'm using the word "work" loosely as based on their previous, I'm not sure how the club will implement it)
Andrew, Bob & Colin all enter the ballot for the Wolves game
Andrew & Bob are successful and attend the Wolves game
Andrew, Bob, Colin, Dave & Eddie all enter the ballot for the Sheff Utd game
You would hope that Colin, Dave & Eddie would have priority over Andrew & Bob

Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
Yes, I would have thought so but I can't see that it clearly states that in the info. put out by the club, so just seeking clarification.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 11:11 amI’m pretty sure each match will be treat independently from that respect.
Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
Andrew and Bob won't be in the ballot for the 2nd game. They'll only go back into the ballot after everyone who has applied has actually been to a game. Or that's my understanding at least!wilks_bfc wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 11:23 amI'm assuming it will work like this (and I'm using the word "work" loosely as based on their previous, I'm not sure how the club will implement it)

Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
We won't be coming out of tier 3 anytime soon anyway so it's pointless getting too worked up about it.

Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
They'll be allowed to re-enter, just to the back of the queue, otherwise you'll get to the stage where there wont be enough in the ballot to fill the 2000
Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
Well tbh, if we are Tier 2 that would last for 2 weeks I presume from Saturday 19 December. Lancashire only, so with 3 home games I presume all those wanting to go and can go would have the chance by Saturday 2 January.
They’ll surely if say the 6,000 (not sure how many) season ticket holders in Lancashire apply for Wolves, the successful 2,000 would be taken out for the next one and so on.
I presume fans not entering some ballots would be put behind those that have been unsuccessful in others. It could be seen as not entering is giving some an unfair advantage in wanting to see one of the bigger sides. But we don’t play a top 6 team until February so things could be a lot different by that stage.
Another view is. What happens when non Lancashire season ticket holders can enter? Do the government really want the prospect of 10,000s of football fans travelling around the country for a football match?
EDIT. Further on from that last bit. I suspect Lancashire only would run until the new year up until the next review on the tier system. If things change and non Lancashire based season ticket holders are allowed, will all Lancashire based fans not be allowed to enter for 2 or 3 games? It won’t just be our club, but you could have loads of clubs with the same issue and fans travelling from all over the place. You could get to a stage where there’s no fans in loads of home sections that don’t live within the surrounding area.

I think the focus was more on the idea that people who don't have a smartphone would struggle to have the NHS app.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 11:11 amI’m pretty sure each match will be treat independently from that respect.

Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
Sky News understands health secretary Matt Hancock has told London MPs the capital will be moved into Tier 3 COVID-19 restrictions imminently
I think it will be a lot longer now before fans get to go on the grounds again. Lasted for 10 days

Agreed ....I somehow do not think that you, me and CricketfieldClarets are the only ones thinking this way. I'd like to think that we have better things to do than whinge however.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 8:30 amWhen I read this update from the club I was stupid enough to think everyone would be pleased as we potentially start taking steps back to normality.

I thought things were better back on the longside? Now people are whinging that they might get a bit wet.
Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
The Longside had a decent, low hanging roof that covered the entire terrace. Personally think the 2 newer stands are cheap, badly designed monstrosities but that's another debate entirely!

Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
As an aside, London has now gone back into tier 3 so it looks like all the London clubs will no longer be admitting fans for the time being.

London in tier three?
Expect it to be the main story on the news for the next fortnight.

I don't think we will be either tbh. With the likelihood of another lockdown in January I'd guess it will be March before anyone is back on the Turf.

Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
I emailed the ticket office, asking if I can enter the ballot even tho I didn't renew my season ticket due to the lockdown.
They replied saying they will contact me on Wednesday with an answer.

Peston just said on ITV that we’re all staying in tier 3 tomorrow in any event.
Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
Lancs stays in tier 3 so no return to the Turf in the immediate future.

On the plus side, those without a smart phone, the internet, a printer, a radio, reading glasses, legs or any friends with any of the previous mentioned won't now miss out.
Also those with all the above won't have to sit and possibly get some rain on their heads or will any non Lancashire residents feel picked on.
Everyone's a winner

Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
Although it's not relevant for the near future, some further info/clarification from the club on the ballot process -
After the 1st game it will run as a basic three step priority for the next game. So, 1) Those who applied but were unsuccessful in the previous ticket ballot. 2) Those who didn’t enter the previous ballot but do for the next game. 3) Those who have been successful in a previous ballot. Ultimately we want as many season ticket holders to be able to attend at least one game.

Re: Return to Turf Moor Update
Not necessarily. It's quite possible that someone will pass on some of the views expressed on this thread, and they've now plenty of time, to consider whether any of the points were valid, and whether it's possible / desirable to tweak the system before announcing it again (whenever).
There were some anomalies that could be addressed (IMO).
