Edit by Mrs Vintage Claret : Don't bank on it..

There was no number one record on the day I was born. The Uk record charts started on the 14th November 1952, which was five years after my glorious entrance into the world.

Re: Birthday No.1's
No “settling” here vino.... it’s a great song. My mam used to play it a lot, which is how I know it.
Wasn’t he the wedding singer in the godfather or am I getting mixed up?

Re: Birthday No.1's
You're right bobinho, AL Martino did in fact play Johnny Fontane in the Godfather. It was a role loosely based on Frank Sinatra and his contacts with the Mafia.

Re: Birthday No.1's
No charts when I was born so I’ve chosen a football date instead and gone for the day of the Orient game in 1987.

Re: Birthday No.1's
I pre-date the charts too, so I'm going for the date I became a Claret, at a match v. Tottenham in December 1965.
The Carnival Is Over, by The Seekers.
I hope that's not an omen. If the match had been two weeks later it would be We Can Work It Out by The Beatles, which would be much better.

Eddie Cochran - 3 steps to heaven, for me.
Re: Birthday No.1's
What's the story with that?
Mine stems from when I was in the Army.
I boxed for my regiment; I won a fight where I was pretty much the underdog but won quite comfortably. One pal commented "that was a right Bobby Dazzler performance"...or something on them lines.
To cut it short; some called me Bobby some called Daz.

Re: Birthday No.1's
From the army also.... not boxing tho.... more due to the fact I was always attempting to entertain the ladies. I was more successful than my looks suggested I should have been. Names Bobby, hence Bobby dazzler, and the lads used to ask “did she get dazzled then?”
Re: Birthday No.1's
But did you ever entertain the SSM's daughter successfully?bobinho wrote: ↑Sat Dec 19, 2020 7:31 pmFrom the army also.... not boxing tho.... more due to the fact I was always attempting to entertain the ladies.
