I will be watching at home with Mrs Vino, the bars here close at six so will settle for my sofa and a couple of cans of Mahou. A win tonight would be great, we can do it I'm sure.

from BBC: Burnley make one change following their goalless draw with Aston Villa, with Ashley Barnes replacing Jay Rodriguez up top.

Interesting. Suggests we're going more target men.

I was just going to say that the team sheet would be as predictable as the rising and setting of the sun and then....!

Might be one of those posts that get quoted after the game, but I'm really disappointed to see Rodriguez dropped for Barnes. Really disappointed.

Two keepers again? Why? Why not give a place on the bench to a youngster? Thompson got on at City and with Vydra missing it would have been a natural replacement. Dyche does himself no favours at times.

Why put 2 keepers on bench ?...why not just put a under 23 there instead

Well we deploy the same tactics most games anyway. Our intentions are clear for this one though. Please launch it when you get it. No looking for a ball into feet.

My thinking is to get safe and then try something different. We know what it takes to keep us up - we just know it.

Why do people assume it’ll be an aerial bombardment into the box if we play Barnes?

5 of his 38 goals have been headed

Bench looks rather thin, only really Jay that you'd consider as an impact sub, I note Benson is in the 1st team squad again, is he now a 1st team fixture it certainly seems so.

Good time to chalk up 3 points, and give ourselves some breathing space from the bottom 3.

It’s a fair point, I wanted Jay in but he’s been average this season, still surprised though

It's a big game for Barnes as his star has been fading a little of late and getting a start today has come somewhat as a surprise, maybe even to him!! He needs to show he's still got it and I hope he does.
Totally agree that 2 keepers on the bench is daft UNLESS Pope isn't 100%, but otherwise a youngster there would have made far more sense.

He'll maybe go out on loan, he could otherwise play some u23 games but he's very much now a member of the first team squad.

We always go long when those two are playing together
