Early in the season there was a lot of negativity from Dyche. And that rubbed off on the players.

After the Villa game when quizzed on if we need some new strikers he instantly said no. He’s very happy with the four we have. We just need to create more.

That must have been a real confidence boost for Barnes and wood. Both of whom played well and scored tonight.

Shows how important his man management and team spirit is.

He’s proven the doubters wrong every time so far in his 8 years.

Absolutely. Was very disappointed when he was coming out with so much negativity as it looks like he and the players had given up. But they’ve all turned it round. And on current form none of the sides around us will want to play us. And none of them have looked capable of the consistency we are currently showing.

Going at them right from the kick off in the second half won us the game.

Surprised me.

You do wonder why we even doubt him and the squad anymore, every time people think we're on the slide, we always turn it around.

I expected us to improve after the first 6 games, but even with my positive mindset I didn't expect us to achieve this run in results.

We've given ourselves every chance of climbing away from trouble, however we still have plenty of work to do yet, as I'm sure Sean will be well aware.

The issue we have is when we have Long and Dunne at centre half and Pieters playing right wing, which is how we started the season. Acceptable to the chairman but not to the manager. Current form is fantastic but when Mee went down in the first half I though Christmas had been ruined.

After 6 games when we were bottom with 1 point
I have to say it was looking somewhat bleak.
Even though we hadn't played particularly badly
(especially in the games against Leicester and Spurs)
we didn't look as if we had a win in us.

7 games later (and putting aside the thrashing at Man City)
we've played some good teams, looked very solid and picked up
12 points. 3 wind and 3 draws in our last six.

Dyche had stuck with Barnes and thankfully he had a much better game today.
So well done Dyche and let's hope that we continue in the same vein and pull
ourselves away from the bottom three.

'Fine margins' and there's still a long way to go.
Let's be honest had we lost tonight and Barnes had played poorly
then both he and Dyche would have come in for some stick on this board.

Apart from the benson sub - bad idea should have put vydra on.

No coincidence that since Mee and Tarkowski have been back together we've conceded (City aside) 2 goals in 6 and picked up 12 points. In the previous 6 we conceded more than 1 in every game bar 2

I think 'Barnes haters' is a bit strong. There have been plenty of times his performances have been poor lately and some prefer Rodriguez style.

I'm not Barnes biggest fan.
For the first 15 minutes tonight he was shocking. Maybe trying to hard though.
He ended up having a good game, fair play to him.
All the forwards been struggling because the service has been poor. Good to get a goal for both Barnes and Chris

To be fair Barnes as had little game time this season due to Dyche perceverveing with Rodriguez who has made little impact and been genuinely poor

Dyche's "negativity" at the start of the season and which, according to some, "rubbed off" on the players was purely down to the frustration he felt by not having the manpower to combat the number of key injuries to the squad. He made his point fairly, as any decent manager would, and the players - even those not really up to PL standard yet - gamely did their best.
Key players are back, the performances have improved and, thankfully,the doubters have shut up.
Dyche's management skills were never in doubt.

I think that is harsh on J Rod. He was excellent against Palace. He has had the odd quiet game too but genuinely poor is not the case. We are lucky to have 4 strikers of similar quality to mix and match and we have proven on occasions that we can play good football with Jay in the team.

My personal opinion is that Wood is our most potent goal threat and Barnes wins most fouls and has the ability to disrupt other teams the best. When Barnes and Wood are in sync it can be a great partnership as we saw at West Ham the other season and on other occasions. I think Wood and Jay did well against Palace the other week too. All good problems to have and keeps everyone on their toes tbh.

Let’s hope Jay and Vyds continue to get a look in if the Wood/Barnes performance drops. I would maybe like to see Dyche use his subs a tad earlier for a number of reasons. One, it keeps Wood and Barnes fresher if they regularly get subbed on the hour or so. Two, it keeps the other two interested if they get on for more than 2 mins now and then. Three, it keeps everyone on their toes. I wouldn’t want a run of 20 games starting Barnes/Wood with the other two getting 2 mins here and there even if the first too are doing well. It’s a squad game and everyone needs to be fit, well and motivated
