Modern fans summed up. Wolves have done well to come back through the leagues. And have had some good times recently. Lose a key striker and some key players leave. And its they who think they should be playing like Barca still.

Burnley Aces on Facebook do a “F****** Burnley” post after most wins which shows how opposing fans react when losing to us. Stereotyping and repeating media fuelled nonsense whilst losing their minds.

Twitter has got a name it deserves.
I want on the official site last night, and they were more concerned about Nunos' team selection and the performance. I didn't read any slagging off of Burnley. That said you always get the blinkered numpties, God knows we have our enough of our own.

Opposition fans slag us off, slag off our style of football, slag off our manager then lose to us. I find it hilarious. When will they ever learn we are here on merit and we are staying.

We had a brilliant win and this forum was still full of people whining about refereeing decisions. As John Bond said in '87 looking back on his time at Burnley

Re: Wolves forum
I've said it before and I'll say it again. A huge % of fans do not understand football. It's as simple as that. I would say 80% of people who watch football don't understand what they are watching.
They don't get that football isn't just about scoring goals and attacking. They don't appreciate an impressive defensive display, shape, movement and pressing. So they think if they play against a side who aren't full of world-class players like their team whose chairman has spent a billion pounds on, they should win.

Re: Wolves forum
Wolves haven't been a footballing giant for sometime now, and like us they've endured the horrors of Division 4, and being dumped out of the cup 3-0 by a non-league team, so just because they've got a bit of money behind them they suddenly think they've got a team of world beaters, and they should be swatting the likes Burnley aside, well! if they bothered to look at the recent games between the sides they'd realise that on our day we are more than a match for them, our last 4 games against them have yielded us 2 wins and 2 draws, so what on earth makes them think they've got a divine right to swagger into TM and win easily, at best they're an average mid-table team, and we usually beat those type of teams more often than not, hence why we've comfortably survived in the last 5 seasons.

Re: Wolves forum
They were plying their trade in League 1 as recently as the 13/14 season, admittedly only for a season, but even so they have short memories clearly.
I'm sure not all of their support have that mentality, but like every club you'll always get the daft minority who shout the loudest.

Re: Wolves forum
To be fair Twitter is full of young keyboard warriors when it comes to the football side of things. Most of those tweeting their nonsense off about us will have zero clue about their own clubs history nevermind ours. All they will see is the media portrait of us and the fact they have spent shedloads on becoming an average Prem team. It frustrates the hell out of fans when they believe that their expensive squad should roll us over..and then we roll them over. We seem to have this whipping boys/cannon fodder tag for some reason..which is odd considering our achievements over the last few seasons.
The more grounded fans can admire how we operate and to be fair I've seen quite a few of those on Twitter too. Many are quite scathing of Podences little after match rants. He does it regular apparently.

They probably believe they have a divine right Tiger because historicly they have a very impressive record at TM (up until very recently).tiger76 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 1:51 pmWolves haven't been a footballing giant for sometime now, and like us they've endured the horrors of Division 4, and being dumped out of the cup 3-0 by a non-league team, so just because they've got a bit of money behind them they suddenly think they've got a team of world beaters, and they should be swatting the likes Burnley aside, well! if they bothered to look at the recent games between the sides they'd realise that on our day we are more than a match for them, our last 4 games against them have yielded us 2 wins and 2 draws, so what on earth makes them think they've got a divine right to swagger into TM and win easily, at best they're an average mid-table team, and we usually beat those type of teams more often than not, hence why we've comfortably survived in the last 5 seasons.
Going back to the late 60s, when I started watching Burnley, I can't think of many teams that beaten us so consistently at home.

Re: Wolves forum
The Wolves forum that I looked at contained some pretty level-headed responses, blaming Nuno rather than having a pop at SD and our team. I like this rant...
"We’ve just been owned by BURNLEY, and it was all so predictable. It’s a disgrace, nothing short. And no, the spirited come back against a kamikaze Chelsea doesn’t mean **** – and don’t @ me if we fluke a result against Spurs or Utd. Because we know we can occasionally beat them; the performances against West Ham, Fulham, Newcastle, Leicester, Villa and Burnley are what’s KILLING us. And Nuno has had two-and-a-half years to work it out and as yet, he’s come up with **** all and it’s not good enough"
Teams, and their fans, don't like being beaten by "anti-football" Burnley. We'd feel the same if we were beaten by Mowbray's warriors

it goes back to my post about understanding football. Re: Wolves forum
Like i said you can detect an undertone in their rants, even the semi complimentary ones that they think they should be rolling us over easily as though we are whipping boys or cannon fodder of the league. The last 5 years of our results and positions seems to mean nothing to them. We are just not earning any respect and whilst that coninues we will continue to annoy them and frustrate them.It is their problem not ours.RalphCoatesComb wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 3:34 pmThe Wolves forum that I looked at contained some pretty level-headed responses, blaming Nuno rather than having a pop at SD and our team. Re: Wolves forum
Villa, Leeds, Fulham, Wolves etc get promoted, spend a £100M+ and automatically think they are a top 6 club, but it’s the clubs like Burnley that give them the kick in the spuds they so richly deserve. I’m sure if SD had £100m+ to spend, we would be a lot nearer to being a top 6 club than those wasters.
Re: Wolves forum
I have to agree with a lot of their comments that we are pretty predictable and you know exactly what you're going get when you play us but as predictable as we are, we do it pretty well and it works for us. I woiuld love to see more attacking flowing football but until we get an injection of cash to buy flair players we'll have to make do with what we have.

Re: Wolves forum
And what we have is good enough to keep our heads above water. Spending a fortune on so-called better players, doesn't always work and can lead to financial disaster. Millions are not enough, we'd need a Sheik with bottomless pockets to make the spend spend spend option work.
