One of the weakest refs I’ve seen in years he was terrible and terrified . Unlucky we were today as Leeds are clearly the weakest prem side I’ve seen in years almost beyond poor

Haven't heard a single person or pundit who thought the 'foul' on the keeper was the correct decision.
Says it all really.

Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
You're not discussing all angles, you're whinging for the sake of whinging, calling out our Stirling captain, because he can't keep his feet. He clearly struggled with his foot wear, as his second half showing proved. The only reason to have a moan about our players is if they're not trying, it will be a cold day in he'll when you can do that.tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 1:03 pmSorry love
Didn't realise people weren't allowed to discuss ALL angles of a game.
How dare they!

Thought we did pretty well second half to say that we were without our most creative players.

We were robbed of a point today. The ref needs to stick to Sunday league.

That was one of the worst keeper performances I’ve ever seen . He flapped and dropped or weakly punched all the high balls even dollys. I’m presuming Leeds have injury issues with their main stopper

Lacking variety and a bit more quality up front. But one appalling decision from a poor ref had a significant impact on the game. To offer an excuse that he's early in his 'career' and will learn is quite simply unacceptable but I'm sure he will continue to rob other clubs further down the line through sheer incompetence.

They've just said on sky sports that because the ref blew the whistle so early, it couldn't go to VAR, this is rubbish, it was a penalty on Mee. VAR is there to protect incompetent referees.
Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Encouraging for us to feel robbed at dirty Leeds. We played some good football today and had the chances to win the game too.
Ref was shocking, can’t wait to hear how diplomatically Dyche can call him out...

Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Dallas should have been booked twice for fouls worse than Tarky's
The worst refereeing performance since George Hartley vs Wolves in @1970 he was an utter disgrace Westy was right when he said you are a f****** joke to get booked. Will the PL step in and talke action no...they will probably fine Burnley for something....someone will need the cash for a gin and tonics evening!
I utterly detest Dirty Leeds they have been patronised all season..I remember that utter obnoxious cheat Revie the man who bent every rule like a letter S and moaned when anyone did it to them.

Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Thought we were magnificent second half, best ive seen us for a while. Poor decision by the referee not waiting a few more seconds after Ben was fouled has unfortunately cost us the game. I'd even go as far as saying in the second half we could have actually won it.

Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
It is quoted on the Live BBC update site. Must have been on Sky somewhere.
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa on Sky Sports: "It was very difficult. Burnley could have drawn the game in the second half, they were two different halves. In the first we were able to impose our game, in the second, especially in the last part, it was difficult for us to neutralise their strengths.
"The first half went according to how we want to play. In the second we couldn't avoid playing the way Burnley wanted to play. If they had drawn, it wouldn't have been unjust. But I value the effort we put in to avoid them drawing.
"I sincerely feel there has been an evolution in the way we defend set-pieces. It was a necessity for us, I express it as a big effort we put in because in the second half when we couldn't impose ourselves and Burnley dominated for a large period, we had the character to fight."

Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Why oh why did it have to be Leeds that screwed us over, we are used to it, but most any other team and you can forget about it. But bloody Leeds, by tomorrow every Leeds fan will be saying they were all over us.
Great effort second half, great performances from all. The only downside was every corner was under the bar, why didn't we put a few beyond the back post, or some whipped to the near, mix it up more, And the distance shots that were always down the keepers throat. Right idea just poor execution.

You'd expect a booking though if the foul was reckless enough to ignore Pope winning the ball.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 12:58 pmRules changed a couple of years ago - no double punishment if it is a genuine attempt to play the ball

Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Performance wise we were rubbish 1st half and deserved to be losing at that point regardless of the scruffy goal that should have been. We did naff all going forward and they were far superior. 2nd half it all changed and should have had a point on the balance of play. We didnt get any luck and they did.
Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Fair play to Bielsa for an honest assessment though I suppose it is easy to be fair when you have got away with one.
Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
A large Claret if the keeper was poor why didn’t we score?? He played well under physical pressure. Yes he flapped at several crosses but his positioning was very good.

How can he play well if he's flapping at everything? The referee bailed him out on numerous occasions.

To add insult to injury, Sky have to have a cringeworthy interview with Bamford who seems to think that him and his team did well against an excessively physical side.

No real pressure on the keeper once he realised that every time he dropped the ball he would get a free kick.

From the laws of the game.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 2:12 pmI didn't get that either. It stops VAR looking at the goal, it doesn't stop it looking at the foul. We wuz robbed.
1. A video assistant referee (VAR) is a match official, with independent access to match footage, who may assist the referee only in the event of a ‘clear and obvious error’ or ‘serious missed incident’ in relation to:
a. Goal/no goal
b. Penalty/no penalty
c. Direct red card (not second yellow card/caution)
d. Mistaken identity (when the referee cautions or sends off the wrong player of the offending team)
I make it that under section B it could and should have been reviewed as it was a clear mistake in Law.

Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
First half defensive shambles Mee and Lowton not up to their usual standards.
Second half on top but couldn't score.
Defensively we will be ok but we need to fix the scoring issue - again no decent service,
Our set pieces were dreadful.
Blaming it on the ref masks the fundamental problem - tactics were wrong.
Dyche's tactical approach was wrong. We had no wide players we should have gone 4-4-3.
The PL has evolved Dyche hasn't. Dyche out

I prefer to lose when we've created the chances to at least draw the game. It at least means we can be optimistic.

Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
This appalling referee was an absolute disgrace to the game of football. It really turns me off watching the game at all, especially when VAR can agree with such an appalling official. Is a goalkeeper not allowed to win the ball in a tackle ? Michael Oliver, as the VAR official, is simply there to lend his support to the match official, however appalling his decisions may be. The game is fast becoming a farce and a joke.

Re: Leeds versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Indeed. You would expect VAR to intervene and at least ask the ref to have another look. Then again Oliver on the VAR probably thought it was a foul on the keeper too. The only people in the real world that did but unfortunately the only two that matter.MT03ALG wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 2:35 pmThis appalling referee was an absolute disgrace to the game of football.
