Westwood & Barnes
How easy do these two make it for the ref to give them a yellow. I appreciate at times you need to take one for the team and impede or stop one of the other teams attackers, or occasionaly you mistime a challenge. These two however get most of their cards (and Westwood must be close to suspension) for giving the ref grief. SD needs to have a word-the squad is too thin to lose any key players

Take a yellow for that every single day of the week in the circumstances of that game. They had every big decision go against them, I’d be more annoyed if they weren’t outwardly frustrated about it. The ref was a joke today.

Westwood seems to play on adrenalin.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 4:51 pmHow easy do these two make it for the ref to give them a yellow. Re: Westwood & Barnes
At the time Westwood received his yellow I'd probably have been walking because I was actually more incensed than he was, if that's possible!! Yet another perfectly good challenge given as a foul to Leeds by an awful ref and I'd have been a lot more animated than Westy was!! He was positively restrained!!!

Re: Westwood & Barnes
Westwood got a yellow for kicking the ball away from the Leeds player in a challenge and ref gave a free kick against him for no reason other than the player dived on the floor, he was frustrated with the ref as anyone would be with his blatant cheating and gave him verbals to that effect, good for him I say.
Re: Westwood & Barnes
Dyche moans about divers yet these two are as bad as most
Certainly Westwood gets more cards for moaning and kicking the ball away than he does for putting in a tackle

I don't think they can play any other way.
And I wouldn't want em to.

Agreed, but they are professional, and bad refereeing decisions happen every game. These two are too important to us at the moment, particularly with Cork not fit yetMilltown1882 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 4:52 pmTake a yellow for that every single day of the week in the circumstances of that game. Re: Westwood & Barnes
The sooner Westwood is banned the better. I really don't understand all this admiration of him on here. We desperately need an upgrade in midfield and he is one of the players who needs upgrading. People are moaning about Wood at the moment, Christ if I were a striker playing in front of a midfield of Benson, Westwood, Peter's an Brownhill I would be pulling my hair out in frustration.

Anybody who’s played knows that Adrenalin and emotion take over at times. No complaints from me at all

Re: Westwood & Barnes
I think Westwood will easily finish the season as our "top assist/goal scoring midfielder-subject of course to avoiding suspensions

Re: Westwood & Barnes
For those who think Westwood offers nothing to the team, here's a link to our assists and chances created, he and Dwight are miles ahead of anybody else, and yes I'm aware both take a lot of our set-pieces, but even so we'd be lost if either wasn't playing for a lengthy spell.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 5:03 pmI think Westwood will easily finish the season as our "top assist/goal scoring midfielder-subject of course to avoiding suspensions

Re: Westwood & Barnes
Genuinely bizarre post, even for on here, slating Westwood. He would also have had to be a saint not to have given the ref some verbal today given his total incompetence and it’s impact on us.

Re: Westwood & Barnes
Ashley picked up his 3rd caution today and can pick up one more in the next 5 games without problem, however, if he is cautioned twice during that period he will be suspendd for one game. HIs 19th game is against Villa!

Re: Westwood & Barnes
The Barnes one was very frustrating. He clearly fouled their defender and wasted time arguing the toss when we needed every second.
