Last sending off for us on the Turf?
It was said in commentary that Burnley have never had a sending off at home in the Premier league.
When was the last time we got one sent off on the Turf?
Great discipline.

Last one was Keith Treacy in the League Cup v West Ham in 2013 I think, the one from Tripps was in the previous season

As soon as I saw a thread title relating to players being sent off at home an image of Wayne Thomas jumped into my head . How we got £1.2m for him I'll never know!

Wasn't Brady sent off in a cup game against lower league opposition?

Brady was sent off late on at Udders away when we won 2-1 in the PL.

And getting Clarke Carlisle for a sixth of the price we got for Thomas.
£1 million and Clarkey. Think that was a very good couple of days business for us.

Re: Last sending off for us on the Turf?
George Burley was the Southampton manager at the time and Cotterill wasn't a fan of his. Burley wouldn't discuss with him and went straight to Kilby and offered £150,000. Cotterill said he'd get £1.2 million for him and leave it to him which Kilby did.matttheclaret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 10:54 pmAnd getting Clarke Carlisle for a sixth of the price we got for Thomas.

Re: Last sending off for us on the Turf?
I remember someone on the previous board painting a funny verbal picture of Burley offering £1m and Kilby trying to snatch the phone from Cotterill's hands to accept the offer.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 10:56 pmGeorge Burley was the Southampton manager at the time and Cotterill wasn't a fan of his. Re: Last sending off for us on the Turf?
Even after all the time that has passed the mention of the name 'Wayne Thomas' gives me the heebie-jeebies.
