Alk blank cheque
But you can only sign two, realistic players. Who and why.
For me a creative, quick right winger. And a creative, quick right back.
Lowton has done well in fairness in recent games. But a new right side could really push us on.

Right winger and creative midfielder. Think we can get by with Lowton he’s done well recently.
Re: Alk blank cheque
With french football in crisis, this is a market we should be looking into more closely, and well within our budget.

They won’t sell but Jack Harrison at Leeds looks a great player.

Re: Alk blank cheque
Isn't he a Man City player, out on loan? So you never know. Can't see him making their first team. Leeds will keep throwing money at players though, so imagine he'd sign for them on a perm.

James Tarkowski/Nick Pope for me..
Just as important to get these two on board with improved long time contracts.

Hadn’t realised that - had assumed him to be one from the Leeds youth. In that case, sign him on!!

Re: Alk blank cheque
A forward. A really good pacy forward. And a really good creative midfielder. Trouble is, neither of those two players are available to us, and wouldn’t be even with an ALK blank cheque.
So realistically, we get what we get, but I doubt whoever it is will be mentioned in this thread.

Re: Alk blank cheque
Sorting out the Tarkowski position is the priority. If he won’t sign sell him and get a replacement for the same or more.
Brady back to form means the RM is less urgent. A young guy to build for the future wouldn’t be wasted money.
A ball carrying CM would be wonderful but he would need to be a grafter with the style we play.

Re: Alk blank cheque
In order of priority... would be delighted with these two positions being filled in January.
Creative winger - Bright Osayi Samuel or Jed Wallace, both likely within our budget
Nippy striker in the Danny Ings/Che Adams mould. Not sure who.
Even though January is ‘trickier’ to bring players in we did alright with Brownhill a year ago.

Re: Alk blank cheque
Forget Man City players. They won’t do business with us after we were one of the ‘hateful 8’ trying to get them banned last season.
The cheats.
The cheats.
Re: Alk blank cheque
Like to offload Vydra and bring in a striker who can work the channels and get in behind a defence. Difficult to say what else we need - right back, right wing and a more creative/box to box midfielder longer term.

Re: Alk blank cheque
New left and right wingers with pace & trickery. Thereby having serious competition & backup for McNeil & Brady. And also allowing McNeil to plays as a 10 behind Wood.

Now we'll be able to afford the wages I reckon we should try and bag a few of these freebies in the summer

Re: Alk blank cheque
I’d take Lingard on loan to see if he’s got the bottle for a club like us. He’s been crap for two years, but it would be interesting to see what Dyche could bring out of him. Worth a gamble with no commitments beyond the end of the season.
Outside of that, we need to be looking at the right wing and a replacement for Vydra for me. We do need a long term replacement at right back but it can wait - it’s going forwards/creativity where work is needed.

Re: Alk blank cheque
1. First and foremost, look after what you have. Reward our top performers with new contracts. Pay them what they deserve.
2. Then I’d go for a right-sided creative midfielder - Buendia my choice, but there’s plenty of other options you’d expect to be available - BOS, Lingard, Wilson(?).
3. A loanee LB if Charlie is going to be out for a few months. Don’t want to have no cover for Pieters.
4. Attacking right back, but not to displace Lowton currently. Think he’s in outstanding form. Just to add to the squad & challenge him.

Re: Alk blank cheque
Not sure about specific players.
But it's the right side for me. If we can match on the right with similar quality that we have on the left in Taylor and McNeil, that would make a massive difference.

Re: Alk blank cheque
Our biggest problem is we can’t keep two wingers fit for more than 2-3 games.
We need a right winger in January as a priority, a pact striker has to be next on the list.
If I was picking I would go for Bright Osayi Samuel for RM and Jauo Pedro from Watford for the striker role. I think the latter will end up at a top club in 3-4 years so hopefully we could be the intermediary.
Apart from that Michael Olise at reading looks like a top top player. Not sure where he would fit in our team as he likes to play as a creative midfielder behind a mobile striker. In terms of talent I would say he is on Par with Eze but a little less well known

Re: Alk blank cheque
1. We need Gareth Bale to realise that he already has the medals and trophies, what he wants now is to play football. So he decides to sign at an average sort of wage at a PL club where he is guaranteed to be the best wide player at the club, and he can have some fun playing.
2. If that works out, do we really need anyone else?

Re: Alk blank cheque
We need to look at the younger players at clubs just below the play off zone, i.e. Stoke, Barnsley and Preston with a view to finding the next Taylor, Pope, Brownhill etc.
Re: Alk blank cheque
Right back and right midfield. Two first team ready players who are a definite improvement on what we have. Keep Lowton as cover and let Bardsley go this summer, and ideally a right winger with some pace.
