Taylor's Injury
Lets hope Charlie is back soon-he has been playing so well. However in our threadbare squad if there is one position where we have good cover, its LB. Eric Peters gives his all for our club. At least he will be playing in his natural position

Hamstring so two weeks if lucky. Let's hope Pieters keeps fit.

If Fulham is off then FACup we don’t need him until WHU on 16th. We might get away with this one.

Re: Taylor's Injury
Yes if we're going to get niggling injuries then this is the time to pick them up, at least after the weekend? then we don't have a league game for a couple of weeks, I doubt Charlie would have played in the cup tie anyway, so this shouldn't unduly affect us.

And hasn't he been playing well - but Pieters has been an astute signing.

Re: Taylor's Injury
Looked to me like a 'grade one strain'.
3 weeks.
3 weeks.
Re: Taylor's Injury
We looked in total command yesterday until his injury. Not saying Pieters did anything wrong but Taylor was so good going forward.
If we can get McNeil fit for Fulham and play Brady on the right we should be fine.
Chris Wood needs to get his goal scoring touch back and quickly. Like all good strikers they thrive on confidence. He has missed so many great chances recently it’s just not funny.

Wasn’t impressed when we signed him but it’s worked out marvellously. So versatile and don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad performance.

My gut feel was 3-4 weeks. Might get lucky if Fulham gets called off as doubt he’d have played in the cup anyway.

Re: Taylor's Injury
Rather like dog years are different to humans, 2-3 weeks injury for a.n.other club means 6-9 at Burnley FC.
I know we don't like to rush players back, and in Charlies case it's worth the extra wait.
Pieters can do a good enough Job until he gets back, but he is such an important part of that defensive axis we will miss him.

Re: Taylor's Injury
Blown away by Taylor this season. He’s been absolutely outstanding, and that is from someone who thought SD had lost the plot not keeping Ward on.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 2:53 pmAnd hasn't he been playing well - but Pieters has been an astute signing.

Re: Taylor's Injury
I was pleased we signed him because we needed a left back coming in to challenge Stephen Ward and we'd just missed out on Andrew Robertson. I wasn't over impressed initially with him but then again I really rated Wardy. It was the 2018/19 season when, through Ward's injury, he stepped up and began to improve. He's now become an outstanding player for us.
Re: Taylor's Injury
Has Taylor suffered from hamstring injuries before or was it just a new pull?
On the signing of Pieters, he is a better player at defending then Taylor but then Taylor is far better going forward.
I think Pieters has been a superb signing and typical of Dyche to have landed him relatively cheaply I assume.

Re: Taylor's Injury
Pieters is fine, but doesn't have the attacking flair Taylor has. With mcNeil out our best attacking outlets are missing.
However, good news on JBG.

Re: Taylor's Injury
would love to see Taylor playing in front of Pieters... he can beat a man.certainly put great crosses in and he is not the slowest in the team by any means

Re: Taylor's Injury
Indeed TE the only thing for me is that Taylor is all left foot just like McNeil and we've seen how he has suffered this season.
Worth giving it a try though when Taylor is fit.

When Taylor played in front of Ward it wasn't a great success though.

Re: Taylor's Injury
I assume SD said this, but I've seen a quote regarding Taylor on the PhysioRoom:
"It's a hamstring. It's an unfortunate one, we will wait and see but we are stretched at the moment."

Re: Taylor's Injury
The problem is Pieters is already filling in for McNeil. So the pack needs to be shuffled again for him to cover Taylor.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 2:53 pmAnd hasn't he been playing well - but Pieters has been an astute signing.

Well that sounds good and then we have Cork on his way back as well.

Re: Taylor's Injury
Not being wise after the event here but I've always thought he'd be a good one and was surprised when some seemed to be writing him off early doors.
It's fair to say there was some room for improvement when he first got into the team but he definitely seemed to have something about him and I'm sure he's another of those players who have flourished with the help of Sean Dyche and his coaching team.
Get well soon Charlie!

Re: Taylor's Injury
I've said this before on here, but not long after he'd signed I met a die hard Leeds season ticket holder who told me most fans there weren't particularly fussed about us nicking Wood as many thought he was a bit of a donkey and they could do better, but us taking Taylor had sent their fans into meltdown as they believed he was a huge star in the making.

Re: Taylor's Injury
No surprises with Taylor as I said at the time we bought him, how good he was.
Similar with Dark Cloud, my next door neighbour didn't think Wood would hack it in the Premier League.

Re: Taylor's Injury
He has saved us often, with a last stretch of his leg. Let's hope for a speedy recovery.
What happened to our cryogenics chamber (I know it's not that but you know what I mean). It was supposed to speed up injury recovery etc.
Did we turn the electric off?
