Yes it’s a great attitude bards has got, a footballer in his 30s desperate to get some game time, no wonder his enthusiasm seems to rub off on the players he plays alongside!

I was at Preston for a pre-season game when we announced the signing so I was outside Deepdale when I updated the site. The negativity on the message board was incredible. He's not the best right back the world has ever seen but quick discussions with Sunderland and Stoke fans will tell you plenty. My mate at Sunderland said he's the best right back he's ever seen there.

Terrific attitude. I've never met him but I'm told he's a top bloke too. I was really pleased when he signed that extension last June.

I like the way he puts the fear of god into some of the wide players he comes up against.

He puts the fear of God in me and I support him from the Cricket Field Stand. Class is Bards.

Always thought Bards was a good player when he first came to Burnley on loan in 2006...played half a dozen games for us before going on loan to Rangers,Villa and Sheffield Utd before signing a permanent contract at Sunderland.

A fully fit jbg would be a guaranteed first eleven starter for me. Also, I agree with the comments on Bardsley: when he signed I was somewhat underwhelmed but he has proven to be a true pro. Having said that Lowton has been very good this last few games.

With such a small squad having some of the "old guard" around like Bardsley and Pieters, both focused ion the club, is so re-assuring

Will JBG need another game, or could he feature vs Fulham?

I think we need 2 of McNeil/Brady/JBG starting.

Wasn't it Bardsley who knocked out Wayne Rooney in that home boxing video?

He cerainly put the fear of God in Richarlison when he came here with Watford a few seasons back. Didn't want to know by the time half time came around.

I think Stan was desperate to sign him up again - either permanently or on loan. However, we couldn't afford it and there was no shortage of alternative offers for him and Man Utd to choose from.

It's been great having him back in a Burnley shirt. His attitude and approach is just what we need.

Excellent news that we're almost back to full strength, Sean might have the welcome problem of a selection dilemma soon.

Either way the bench will be a lot stronger which can only be a good thing.

I like Bardsley, not the quickest but he lets the attacker know "if I tackle you, you'll know about it" I still remember that great goal he scored in the cricketfield end when he was first on loan with us, it was a tremendous strike, can't remember who against, think it was a league game in the championship. Forgot to add. What a great afternoon for JBG, and well done Jack Cork.

Jimmy Dunne off after only 22 mins, I wonder if it was only a twinge and nothing more serious.

Any news people?

I think we were on a bad run toward the end of 2018 and okayed liverpool at home midweek. Bardsley put a tackle in that changed the whole mood and game.

We lost 1-3 but I really felt that was the beginning of the end of the bad run (then the Everton pasting came)

Then look what happened. Perhaps your feeling was only 1 game out. :D

It was BennyD. Everton was a shock as I thought we had turned things around.
