Re: Today’s footie 3/01/21
still, Chelsea should have had a pen at 0-0
Re: Today’s footie 3/01/21
We were the first and up to now only team to put 3 past Chelsea on their own ground in one half in the Premier League era.

Re: Today’s footie 3/01/21
Don't think Abramovich gave Lampard that amount of cash last summer to be also rans.
Re: Today’s footie 3/01/21
Hardly half a team, probably only Emerson and Jesus would have played! How much do you reckon city’s starting line-up cost?Wellsy1882 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 5:24 pmI think city will pip lpool and united this season

Re: Today’s footie 3/01/21
Baring an amazing 2nd half turnaround, it'll be 1 win in 6 for Chelsea, and 4 points out of 18, you do wonder how much longer Frank will get with this dismal form.
Chelsea only sitting in 8th as it stands, and in real danger of getting sucked into mid-table mediocrity if things don't change quickly.
Roman isn't famed for his patience, so Lamps could be out the door soon.

Brendan Rodgers would be a good fit for Roman.

Which is why there is a lot of speculation over his future. He’d never have got that job but for the embargo.
Re: Today’s footie 3/01/21
Chelsea look to be trying to walk the ball into the net and getting nowhere, they will have to start shooting from outside the 6 yd area at some point.
Re: Today’s footie 3/01/21
I’m glad our fringe aren’t as crap as that lot!
I understand the point you’re trying to make, but Rodri has started nearly every game this season, Phil Foden is supposed to be the future of Man City since silva left! And he’s also chosen to leave Fernandinho, Agüero, mahrez and mendi on the bench.

The luxury of having a bottomless pit of money at Pep's disposal, even their supposed reserves would get into most other PL starting XI'S.Bigvince wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 5:50 pmI’m glad our fringe aren’t as crap as that lot!

You'd think Bruce would be given the other thread.

Put it on then
Re: Today’s footie 3/01/21
They are a far better team when they lump balls into the box for Giroud but they would rather play tippy tappy and get nowhere !!
Ditto Newcastle who looked more dangerous banging balls up to Carroll ..

Re: Today’s footie 3/01/21
Well at least if you get balls into the box it actually means the defenders have to defend, yet for some reason this is seen as anti-football, give me a team that delivers crosses every day of the week over all this tippy tappy nonsense, everybody thinks they can play like Barcelona these days, and often they can't.
Chelsea have mustered 1 shot on target in 85 minutes, that says it all about their performance today.

Why did Chelsea get to take the corner again when the hapless Werner kicked the corner flag before the ball?

Re: Today’s footie 3/01/21
I suspect it isn't Werner that's the sole issue, maybe need to look at how his manager is failing to get the best out of him and continuously plays him out of position.Wellsy1882 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 6:37 pmPity
That werner brings nothing to the prem. Better off with Giroud every game
